Dont do it. Save up 3-4k and get get a beater car like a civic or something to drive in the winter.

Its not the snow that you need to worry about, it's the rust and corrosion caused by the salt.

I suppose I might think this way if I was driving a $100K exotic. The Z isn't an expensive car. I mostly drive a Jeep (a model that is more expensive than my Z) in the winter. The Jeep is just as vulnerable to salt damage as my Z. And, I try to keep the Jeep looking good as well.

I mean... you "gotta" drive something in the winter. I suppose it is more a matter of perspective.

I'm assuming one buys a 350z is little more into sprited driving than say, someone buying a family vehicle. Take a performance driving class or at least during a some rain (save your tires) have some fun in a big EMPTY parking lot.
I made the mistake of turning off my TCS on a rainy day. Made a left turn at a light goin about 15-20 mph, ended up doing a 180 in the middle of the street and watching all 10 cars just looking at me haha thats the last time I ever turned it off on a rainy day! TCS saves lives....except when you hydroplane it....then it will KILL you....(experience)

I don't know, I think driving a 350Z in the winter is a real shame.

I've had quite a few rwd sports cars and just got a 350 not long ago. Well after driving around today with vdc on and off it's a pretty neat feature for driving safe. Most of the time I'd like to have vdc off because I enjoy sliding the rear end out but it's amazing how quick the vdc is. I've never had a car with traction control so it surpsied me at first. A couple times it got the wheels spinning before I even knew it and corrected so fast. I wouldn't buy a base model especially if I had to drive it in rain or snow.
