You underestimate yourself. Your time is in the Top-25. That's more credibility than 99 percent of the claims that I am reading in this thread.

your not the onyl one i pulled on several 06s. i drove my freinds it defitnly felt alot slower then the 03 atleast stock vs stock they say they mod better though. And in my 2003 when i hit it into second i sometimes go sideways when i get the shift nice. And almost always chirp third and i have new tires. Also have chirped 4th a few times and even on the highway downshifting into 3rd rev matching at around 5500 i get it to chirp going back into 3rd. If you cant chirp second in the z you got some really really sticky tires or you just plain suck at stick. I remember when i first got my z nailing first going extremyl sideways lol bangin second still going sideways and chirping third. Acutually my freind has it on his camcorder it was when i raced a ford lighting i onyl lost by a half a car even though i went sideways in first and second. Funny thing is one month later the guy with the lighting was so impressed with the z hr bought a 2006 enthusasist and i burned the 2006 by 1 car lenth lol. And his 06 loses to my freinds wrx with TBE and i burn the wrx from a dig everytime never lose not even once to it the 2006 loses everytime to it

I started modding my car but cant really see a difference in performance. I recently drove my friends new 06 300 hp 350z and couldnt believe how much slower it felt than my car when it was stock. with my stock Z i was able to spin tires shifting into second and chirp into 3rd every single time (with good tires). when i drove his, it only barely chirped into second (with the same tires)... it was dissapointing. is mine a "factory freak" or is his a "lemon"?

I like to think of myself as one of the best manual transmission drivers i know in terms of shifting correctly and extremely fast. i shifted the same speed in my friends 06 as when i do in my 03 287 hp. look forward to your responses!
The track trim is heavier than the base or enthusiast trim. Which trim is your Z?

i believe the track is lighter than the touring but may be heavier or very close to the base. there's no leather and no navi option (had to install aftermarket navi)

davidv i ran that time w/ the 3.9fd... i was only hitting low 14s w/o it. hope technosquare gets that ecu back to me soon

for the reg des run a revup on top end. Thats where the motor shines. And you would have to be on pcp to not see the difference. Btw if ur on pcp...hook a brotha up jk jk

With equal drivers, the difference between 287hp motors and 300hp motors is negligible. Slightly better low-end versus better top-end. Thats all.

As far as weight is concerned, lightest is base. My track Z w/o the spare, jack, and tools and with a 1/4 tank of gas with one Sparco seat and one OEM w/ airbag weighed in at 3223 lbs. I also have the side curtain airbags.

well if ur looking for a faster time, chirping ur tires is a no no. so no powershifting 1-2. and it probably feels slower due 2 the added weight of the 06 and loss of torque.

Torque matters.

I'll take 287/276 over 306/260 anyday.

the thought of removing the spare and jack never even crossed my mind... the track is about 35 miles away from my house. i'd hate to get stuck waiting for a tow truck.

then again if you have some spectator cars around thats a different story!

if it were road racing that would be a poor choice. But for everyday driving or street driving yea its negliable but i have driven all 3 forms of Z and the new motors in order alll surpass eachother as they should.A 287 on the highway kinda looses all life and struggle moreso then the revup. On the highway a revup is very nice even in 5th 6th gear. The HR is just the combonation of both.

Actually the 2007 is 306/268. Of course that totally ignores the AUC.

You can't "turn off" a limited slip differential....

Well, unless you have an air-locker but, that is a different story.

The 350z isn't exactly a heavy rwd car.... we are not talking back in the 80s when 3800~4000lb 305 and 307 powered cars had trouble getting the one legger going.

I havent gone to the track in ages. I dont have any time anymore, Im lucky I got to go out to MRC dyno day yesterday. I understand there are tons of claims on forums about fast cars etc. But Im just telling you from driving the car a while now, the only Z that I felt was faster stock is the 07' model year and thats because of obvious improvements. Driving skill is clearly an important factor to consider. I'd consider myself mediocre, Im not big on auto cross, or drifting, or drag.
