hah yea ive been hearing alot bout how the 300 hp beats the 287 on the freeway but never have i lost one on the freeway all the way up to 120-130 then it gets scary and we let off. not trying to be bias with mine cause i love every type of z but i honestly pull harder away the faster both of us go and usually i let them floor it first just to make sure im not accidently cheating.

Sometimes i chirp in 4th but it is so rare i didnt even think it was worth mentioning in this thread

oh and through this thread, someone with an 06 pm'ed me saying they know one of my friends wanna do a quick friendly race against me. so i might film that and post it somewhere on this forum.. i let you guys know if i do.

as long as both cars are stock the revup will pull its just higher hp and the curve difference however small .

The 2006 will run as well or better than other 350Zs. For those in doubt, post a time slip and show us.

This is a funny thread. Maybe your friends just can't drive. As far as cars chriping the tires with a manual is no big thing, and if you are doing it all the time means you are not shifting properly. Actually if you really want to take off and get the fastest times a little clutch slippage is better for performance than what you are doing.

As far as chriping tires, my old firebird could light my tires doing 70mph down the freeway. Also could cook my 15/30 slicks at the drag strip. However, unless I wanted to warm up my tires so that they got better traction I hardly ever did it as it really just took away from performance.

no time slips but i wouldnt say its better i say its equal. If it had the same torque and the 300hp then it would be better. But just like the other guy said i always pull on the 06 but i would drive both and be just as happy. when i drove the 06 it felt slower to me but it was smoother and less harsh on the bumps

haha im not sayin i was chirping when racing, im just saying my car was powerful enough to do that. i shifted the same speed with his 06 and it couldnt.

slips wont show a revups benefits. If anyone wants to run at sebring thats the best way to see what the revups plenum and benefits are. Obviously with less of a tq curve down low its not really what the car was designed for. So that wouldnt be much of a factor i would actually predict a lower trap time for a revup or normal. I ran at pocono twice with my 04 287 and constantly in the straights and exit turns with a revup being more in his power band i was constantly playing the endless catch up game. I never beleived in the revup at all i actually beat some in street races from before. But During a road race event or a highway run im telling ya uptop the motor will pull a 287. There was a best motoring with both cars with 2 white Zs one being a 35 ann and a reg and the 35th beat it . Its not the margin of the HR with the 287 but its obviously a more potent motor on a road track. From my findings. And having both i can honeslty say there is a difference uptop.

Must have seen 40 threads like this arguing this point both ways. Second only to what is the best speed for me to shift threads.

On PC gaming forums this thread would be "Will this play on my machine" It's the first thing every dill hole with a slow computer asks.

oh hahaha well that could be a huge factor . if you wanna chirp your tires then turn off the vdc, or tcs whatever ur car is equipped with. you cant chirp with it on because it cuts off engine power and grabs the back wheels.

I do. The only thing that happens is a "nice" jerk from the rpms being too high for the next gear. Which is why when I shift at 7000rpm in first, I have to wait about 1-2 seconds for the revs to drop enough for a smooth shift into 2nd.

If you really want to blow your mind.. go 3/4 thru first gear and slam into 2nd.. you will SPIN the tires instead of chirping.

I think some of you are confused on what is actually happening when your tires chirp.
