Default Filling up with gas problem?

i did a quick search, nothing to speak of, so i figured i would ask.

i have a 2007 Enthusiast and can't fill the tank without problems. at first i thought it was the station i was at, but it happens everywhere! when i am filling up, it will stop around 8-10 gallons in. gas even spills out, but the tank isn't full according to the gauge. at first i thought it was the gauge, but when i realized it wasn't i am worried. wtf is going on? is there a pressure buildup or something? if i mess around long enough with it, it will start pumping again and fill the rest of the way............wtf?

Why is history so doomed to repeat itself in this forum?

http://www.nissanhelp.com/Ownership/.../NTB05-048.htm

P.S...DaveZ..as a mod are you not allowed to link outside the forum..just wondering why you're beating around the bush?

I just searched for "filling". If you try to make the search too specific by specifying a phrase, you actually make it worse because it matches all words you use. It's not Google by any stretch.

Linking outside is not a problem, we do it regularly. I just don't keep track of all the TSBs and forgot that this is one of them. Thanks for reminding me.

Jim,

I share your frustration when searching on this Forum. I write database and SQL software solutions, and I don't like the way this Forum handles searching. The software here does not handle intersections, exclusions, conditionals, etc.) In fact the search functions here are very weak. And... when someone diligently does a search and receives little or no results, and then starts a thread or asks a question, they get "hammered" by the "regulars."

Another very aggravating fault in this Forum's search engine is its inability to compare "close matches." For example Farenheit (a popular search term on this forum for a company that intentionally misspells the name) fails if you spell it correctly (Fahrenheit). Same goes for Power Acoustik (should be Power Acoustic, but "Acoustic" does not yield search results).

The TSB is only up to '05's. I wonder how many 2007's are affected I have an '07 with the same problems filling up But the nissanhelp website doesn't show any TSBs for this problem...

Haven't you taken it back to the dealer yet? After all, you are under warranty. While the TSB is not 2007 specific, it still may be the solution for your problem. TSB's are not like recalls, they are advisories for dealers and the dealer can use them to solve problems outside the model year specified.

my 07 has this problem, but i only encounter it at this new Shell gas station with the newer pumps. My Z seems to like all the other pumps at other stations okay.

It just happened today (my 4th fill-up ever). I was only able to get one click of the pump each time. It never happened during the previous 3 fill-ups.

I'll bring it in when I have my first complimentary oil change done. I'll keep everyone posted...

It happened to me all the times even I have the shuttle value (1 time visit) and the whole gas tank replacement(2 time visit). now my 04 is out of bumper to bumper warranty. I don't know I should bring back to dealer or not.

How long ago did you have the shutter valve and gas tank replaced? Maybe there's warranty on the work performed that was suppose to fix the problem? -No??? It sucks to have things replaced hoping that it'll fix it only to end up having the same repeat issues.

Nissan replaced my gas tank 3 times because of this and filled the tank up each time. Next time you fill up don't put the pump on the fastest flowing lock. Go down a notch or 2.

Bring it to the dealer, had this problem it was an airbypass valve or something. Had to bring it in so many times they ended up changing my entire tank. As they replaced the bypass valve they broke something in the tank. Good luck
