The only reason I originally said that my tax dollars are being thrown away on the guy who just joined the military, is because we have more military then we really need. I am not claiming we do not need a military.
We should bring our troops home.
And no, I do not believe in government conspiracies, just government folly.

the US earned the rights we all enjoy by claiming this land of ours and then defending it multiple times. you think you would be allowed to talk like you do if we still belonged to Brittan? what if Hitler's plan worked out? what about N. Korea or Iran? think they wouldn't jump on the chance to attack us if they could?

The 9/11 attack took years of preparation and planning to commit. More then the five years that we have been over there. It was also accomplished using civilian aircraft. No military weapons whatsoever. How easy do you think this would be to duplicate?
But you go ahead and keep living in your uneducated small world, while the United States creates enemies and destroys the lives of some of the poorest people on earth.

i guess i like to ask people this when they have an outlook such as yours. why are you still here? if you hate it so much, why not leave? i hear Canada is nice this time of year and you aren't to far away. or perhaps you just enjoy being an uneducated moron who questions everything.
let me guess, the military shot down the WTC towers right?

It is obvious you do not understand what I have been trying to communicate so far,
especially if you may be a cop that thinks public baby sitting is an honorable occupation (your statement you are in law enforcement lead me to this conclusion).
Wars are fought to defend your rights to say what you want and think how you want. If those people who disagree with the war wish to speak about it badly, then guess what, they can because people have died fighting to defend that right.
I see it all the time; people hate the war, which is fine. Support the people in it though, they are there doing their job, regardless if they agree or not.
Freedom of speech is earned, not inherent. It is inherent for Americans now, because we have defended the rights for it. Go into a communist country and talk bad about the government, see if you don’t wind up in jail for a very long time or dead.
Everyone in the military is a volunteer, regardless of the situation they are in; they joined on their own free will. I have been very proud of serving my country for 10 years now, 5 of them on Active Duty and currently on my 3rd deployment. I will continue to come do my part, however little and insignificant it may be to allow us all to defend that right for everyone in the US to do what they are offered "inherently".
I know I probably could be doing better financially on the outside world of the military, but to me it’s more than that. I love the military and have since I was 8 years old. I will do my 20+ years and then get out. I will support all troops until the day I die. To me, there is nothing nobler that a person willing to help others out and make our country what it is today.
