you sure dont have any taste at all!!!
I chose the z because I like it and its MY OPINION !
I still look at S2k owners with admire toward his/her car because its a beautiful car with perfect hp per cylinder ratio.
Imaging what you would say to a 350z IF you have money to roll around in a porsche911????

I did not read all the thread and i want to post my own opinion before reading the thread because i wondered same question.......... bla bla bla..:
+more room inside the 350Z then on S2000
+problems with the LSD on the tuned S2000, they even have a kit for installing a Nissan 200SX S15 LSD on them
+NA engine no fun 350Z has also a NA engine but considering the torque and power band of the 350Z the displacement, all of that make in my opinion 350Z the favorite (and considering i'm going for FI a BOLT ON turbo kit will provide around 350-400HPon 350Z but only max 300HP on a S2000)
+i already have a 200SX RS13 CA18DET 10/1990 (European model so do not confuse with US 200SX because they re very different, it looks more like US 240SX) so already a Nissan owner make me stay to the brand for mi SoCal car, (considering i will not find a supra or other exotic cars in relay good condition and for less money)
+because i buy a second hand car, "drive it as you have it" stile for S2000 make me turn again my head to the 350Z
+RTT tuning is expected from Osiris for 350Z (i use Nistune for my 200SX), S2000 have Hondata i believe but I'm not familiar with Honda tuning but i have some experience with the Ca18DET engine and knows a little bit also about other older Nissan engines, so another point for 350Z
S2000 is lighter, have a rev friendly engine (2L one), is convertible (if i want i can buy a convertible 350Z also) but considering i already have the 200SX witch is light and have that small turbocharged engine (the car is in Romania my home country), for SoCal i'll chose a 350Z + JWT TT kit (as soon as they get the CARB approval) + Osiris when the RTT version will be available (witch i strongly believe it will be until i buy the 350Z)
so 350Z 04.5 for me, for you, i do not know, you should chose the car that "fits" you

Powerful car, yes....but seriously, I get excited everytime I see these cars on the road because I'm wondering what hot MILF is driving it... and when I see a dude in it, I'm like "damn! I must have missed the rainbow flag plate, up front"

I have driven both cars and was in the market for an S2000 before i bought my 05z. The only reason i bought the Z over the S2000 is because of the increased interior space. Other than that S2000 is a technological marvel and a thrill to drive. I would suggest trying both cars and see which car "fits" you best...

I have drove a 2001 s2k, i liked it but im 5 11' so i fit pretty good. Now, the torque i didnt like, u have to keep it above 6k to make any. s2k is a prefect autocross car. but i still love the room and torque of my z, and i think its a better road corse car.

As mentioned both cars are great it just depend on what you want.
The Honda S2000 is a great looking roadster it is a honda which is a plus reliability wise and swicht/buttons quailty. It is a performance machine probably one of the best at stock auto crossing and criusing the city. I think its a very sleek looking car with an amazing 4 cylinder engine thats actually as fast as a 03-05 Zcar 0-60 from a rolling start. I don't think its as good as a daily driver and both are not great all season vehicles imo. But in the summer time, top down cruising the beach it would be great. It is superior to a Mx5 in speed performance maybe its a draw looks and through the twisties. You do have to rev her up to get her to perform. If I could have anything from the Z it be its engines mated with the S2ks 6spd tranny, have some of the Zs interior amenties like a easily accessible radio, and maybe the Z's elbow room.
The 350Z is a great looking car roadster or coupe it has Nissan reliablity and is a strudy performer with more interior amenities and a better ride, then the S2k. Its performance is much different then a S2k in that anytime you want it the power there. It handles well and feels like and looks like a powerful sports car, its a great cruiser and does well at the track rather quarter mile or auto crossing or the beach. As a daily driver its probably the better car overall. If I had a choice I'd still choose the 350Z even after knowing all the good things the S2k can do. It's too small for me and not as comfortable just sitting in it. Though I marvel at the S2ks engine output I like the 350Zs engine better. If I could wish for anything it would be to have S2ks 6spd feel in the 350Z that would be great. And have the Z weigh maybe 200-300lbs less.
This comparison has come up a lot it really depends on how big you are and what you really like in a performance car.
To me only Corvettes and Porsches are classic options to the Z.
