Default Reply from Bose regarding the 03 and 04 350Z

They don't say very much but performance issues are currently being addressed. What did they do different for the 2004???

Hello Oscar,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Music System in the 2003 and 2004 Nissan 350Z. The Bose Music System in the 2004 Model is not the same as the 2003.

The system performance issues on the 2003 are currently being addressed through meetings with Bose Corporation and Nissan Motor Corporation.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for choosing Bose Corporation.

Here is a link to another person's info about this subject. It may actually amount to something.

Oh no. I meant raise the BS flag

In all honesty, I have no problem with the '03 bose stereo. It's fine for me. I'm not a big stereo guy though. All go, no show for me.

I'm glad they are having "meetings" about this. "Meetings" is a code word for "we are laughing at you together about this".

They've been saying this stuff for months now. They are just teasing me, so that I hold out hope for a slightly better system. The sloppy highs are really driving me nuts, though. I could even probably live with the bad sub performance, but the imaging just kills me on long drives (reminds me of out of phase speakers). It gives me listening fatigue after 20 minutes of music, and I have to go to talk radio.

I should probably just do a budget upgrade (say, spend about $1K or so) and writing my decision to go for the touring over performance to an impulse buy when I knew better.

Have faith. You will soon hear that Bose will swap out your '03 unit for the unit in the '04's. Several people have gotten e-mails from Patty that the date expected for action on the '03 bose stereos in the 350Z is end of August. This parallels the date that the '04's come out.

I definately hear your frustrations over this subject, as it has been beaten to death it seems--but maybe something is going to happen. No one knows except those at Bose and Nissan. I'm holding out hope because the Bose system is one reason I bought the Touring.

Have a listen to the Audi A4 Bose system if you haven't already. I'm assuming you have not because it absolutely blows doors as far as sound quality over the 350's. And, the upgrade cost difference was a few hundred dollars less than the 350.

Come on Bose TSB--I can hear you coming!
