[QUOTE=Phantom Menace;6725970]For the cost of a few screws you can tuck your rear bumper. However this only looks good with aftermarket exhaust. And only certain ones at that.QUOTE]
Are there any threads on how to tuck your rear bumper?? I'm new to Z's but mine has HKS True Duals and i would love to do this

Hey Marcus, I do not post on this forum much but after reading all the cheap shots a lot of people took at you I had to log on and comment. For starters, most of the answers provided which actually address your original question I have to agree with. Don't take a nice car and trash it because you are in a hurry to build it on a low budget. Save up for decent quality mods.
As for all the immature comments these guys threw at you, I have to say congrats! You handled in a pretty responsible manner. If you go back and read all the posts in this entire thread it just shows what A*shole's some people are. Sad to say even Moderator's of this forum who are here to keep order and yet I noticed a couple smirks and giggles as they provoked the trash talking. Who is the real 15 year old here? To compare your responses to not only the mature posts but also the immature posts next to some of the older and more "wise" people on here and I want to say they sounded more like the 15 year old. Most people made all the mistakes they are disgruntled about. And to say they wish they had been given the advice they gave you when they were 15 is hard to believe. I think they were no different when they were kids. All kids were told not to do things but they still did it. It is part of being a kid. Sure, there are some very serious and possibly fatal consequences if you misuse your 350Z. I do think kids are going to be kids no matter how much you tell them not to do something. It does not mean we should stop pounding it in their head to be careful but cheap immature sh*t talk does not teach a young guy much. These guys can poke fun at you all they want but I am sure they have to agree they have a bit of jealousy that you were given such a nice car at 15 which most people do not receive. Let alone receive any car at all. And so what if mommy and daddy bought it. Most these guys are probably married and have to ask their wife if they can buy a mod for their car.
I think this thread could have been 2 pages as opposed to 11 if the first response would have been to tell you to save up and do not skimp on mods for your Z, followed by some responsible advice on taking care and pride in your car, getting to know it by reading driving and working on it, and the possible risks which may occur and have occurred by irresponsible driving.
I am 34 and have owned two 350 Z's. I lived and am still living a very tough and rough life but I find no need to take it out on some young guy who turned to us for advice. Not very encouraging. These type of people exist in all types of forums. Usually the more educated they are on the subject the more rude they are with their posts towards the young, inexperienced or just plain immature noobe's. It makes me wonder if they have nothing better to do than go on forums each night and bash the inexperienced. These forums are here for both the experienced and inexperienced. Again, I do agree with them when they ask that you educate yourself on the risks of misuse of this or any vehicle. But the immature responses are just that.
And last, Talk how you want to talk. Your 15 for god's sake! (well 17 now). That's what high school kids do. Nothing wrong with that.

lots of people get the rubber sealant for a garage door and stick it under the bumpers. costs about 15 bucks to do it yourself and looks pretty good i might say. ive been thinking about doing it myself. just google "garage door lip" theres pics of them on bimmers, STIs hondas. and if you mess it up on the curb, just another 15 bucks to fix it. its so flexible you can put it on pretty much and bumper
this kids got a point...everyones stereotyping lol. im 18 and the Z was basically my first car...i had to spend the money to keep my financial aid for school...not my DD but love the car to death. (not that anyone cares...) You could get tints, pos car underglow, you could make an underglow look real nice and not too cheap/riced out if you do it right. if you do go lights play around with it for a little. dont break your budget too hard though. you never know when youre gonna need a new transmission...:/ also blacking out the lights isnt too bad of an idea.

i dont agree at all. i pay my own insurance. for both of my cars, and under a quarter of my monthly income goes to my car payments. Theoretically leaves me plenty of money for mods. I know a quarter of my income is alot to pay for car insurance and what not but i dont have many other, if any expenses.
