Default 350Z's 5 to 10 yrs. from now

Hi my name is Ivan and I'm a student at NC State. Right now I dont have the money for a 350Z but in 5 or 10 yrs. I hope to. My question is, what do you think the used car maket price and availability will be like in the next five to ten years for the 350Z? Another thing is that I would not mind if it was worn slap out either because then I would not feel bad at all about going through the motor and the suspension and beefing things up to what I would like. Which brings me to my next point, will aftermarket parts be more abondent in the next 5 to 10 years and might they be any cheaper due to more more of them being out there?
Thanks,
Ivan

It's hard to say whether new or used parts will be more abundant in ten years, but prices will be much better than they are now. In about five to ten years, and with your degree, you can probably buy yourself the new version of the Z.... whatever that may be...

the way technology changes I wouldn't even think about what to buy 10 years from now. You will be able to buy a 350z for cheap. Also a 2003 Porshe 911 twin turbo x50 will be about 40k so think about that.

Ivan,

I have a 1985 300zx Turbo that was $20,000 new.
In 1995 it was worth $8,000. The economy and infaltion
have a lot to due with used car prices.

Well, a 94 300ZX TT is still worth over 15k. I think new it sold for about 40k. My 87 300ZX NT sold for 24K & is worth 4.5k now. So I guess a 2003 350Z will be worth between 12 & 14 in 10 years.

Since the designation matches the engine displacement, perhaps a tuned version of the 5.6 liter V8 engine will power a new generation. That would make it a 560Z if it's NA??

More than likely the GTR will take over the higher power position.

I did figure that there would be newer stuff out there but I have no clue what kind of money I will have then, so a used 350Z looks really appealing to me, plus it's the car that I have been eye-ing since it was a concept and I think I'm falling in love with it! I drive a MGBGT right now that is absolutly not stock, but as you can see I have very little funds, so a 350Z would be a huge step even 5 years from now for me. Right now I would do just about anything just to get ride in one, I cant imagine driving one.

oh and also, I enjoy autoX in my MG which the suspension is modified very heavily and it does very well (adds to the excitment). Are the 350Z's doing pretty good in autoX, I havent seen one out there yet. Has anyone beefed up the suspension in one to make it real nibble and made it feel like a light car?

We've got a member who's racing the Z professionally in the Grand Am Cup Series. And I'd say they're doing pretty well.

Dude, you're at State? Im at Chapel Hill. I Have a lot of friends at State. I love the 350's too, hopefully I can get one nect year. Someone here at school has a red one ( of course, there is also a Porsche Cayenne, a TRD Widebody Supra, and more benz's beemers, and audi's than you can shake a stick at) I would love to dirve one of the six speed ones. I know one thing, the sound is unmatched by any stock sports car I have ever heard....
