You either have some very bad luck, or some very interesting driving habits! I put probably 100 passes down the drag strip on my 05, and it had 72,000 miles on it when it got blasted by a bad driver. The tranny still felt close to new. My 07 has 35,000 miles on it and feels pretty much the same as my 05. The 350z doesn't have the smoothest tranny on the road, never has. It's a fairly heavy-duty transmission that's noisy and a bit clunky, but there are people running 500+ whp through these with no problems.

The only thing bothering me is the damn white symbol for the garage door opener is wearing off prematurely—only way to fix it is to replace the whole mirror.
Whoever was complaining about wind noise through the seals...Your windows may need adjustment. I get the usually tire/road noise but the extra 1/4" the window's go up when you close the door should keep any wind from penetrating.

You must be trolling, there is no way any reasonable person would make such ridiculous claims.
You power shift your transmission, then claim you take good care of your car? There is no safe way to power shift, these aren't sequential transmissions. You should know that at 53 - if you want to powershift, go buy yourself a dog clutch system.
Five transmissions is an indicator of a failed driver, not a failed car.

*) He said 5th gear, not 5th transmission.
*) I'm pretty sure the syncros being a common problem on these cars...is common knowledge.
*) You can still power/flat-footshift

Debunking time.
"2004 Nissan 350Z Touring 6MT
From 3/2004 through 6/2010
- I am on my 5th transmission"
He says 5th transmission, verbatim. Take some time to read next time.
If you read my post, I had a 3rd gear synchro fail. But 5 transmissions in 39,000 miles is not weak synchros.
Again, read carefully next time. Power shifting damages non-sequential transmissions. You can do it, but it causes premature failure. Just as you "can" drive at redline all day, eventually it will damage your engine. Sequential transmissions avoid this problem by having a different engagement mechanism.
Bottom line: if you aren't driving a sequential tranny or a racing setup designed for it, you will generally wreck your tranny by powershifting it, given a bit of time.

So far, just clutch pedal sticking every now and then, but mine is probably under the recall and I'll do it as soon as sticking becomes more consistent. Else, I'm actually loving this car's brawn.

1. Crap Paint, made worse by the fact that mine is black. Swirled, scuffed and rock' chipped to hell.
2. Performance Mods- Everything is a waste of money and time unless you go FI or LS which are both $$ in the Z. The car gets walked on by kids in their turbo-sport compacts, and the Domestic V8 crowd is able to drastically improve performance for cheap with bolt-ons, cams, and RP upgrades, which for them, is CHEAP.
3. Reliability... This has been my worst car. Airbag light is still blinking, I clear it, it's back in 20 minutes. Driver window went down one day, never came back up... that was a PITA swapping motors and it's still not right. Power-Steering rack and Pump died.. free thanks to warranty, rear hub-seized... that was $1,200.
4. Rear end feels weak, clicks, clocks and bangs around. It's never felt as solid as my 240's or Mustang have when launching.
These issues just all compound each other. If the paint/body had been easier to maintain and looked better, I could over look the lack of Go-Fast, or if I could have cheaply be in the low 13's then I could over look the reliability or visual issues.

03's still seem to be around 10-12k, considering they where 26-32k back then, its not bad 7 YEARS LATER.
I think the problem is, the car held it's value VERY WELL for the first 5 years, and then had a rapid fall putting it at where it normally "should be". It was like 18-22k was the norm, then BAMN 12k instead of 18, then 14, then 10k averages.
