Default Long Distance Driving

Are there any concerns or possible problems that may come up by driving my 06 350z on a long distance trip? I am thinking of close to 700 miles or 12-14 hours a day for a couple days.

None really, I would give the car an oil change, top off any fluids if need and check the condition of your drive belts and don’t forget to keep your tires properly inflated

ps I remember reading something in the owner’s manual how it can be harmful on a motor to drive long periods in the same rpm range but then again I can’t remember if it was just for the break in period.

^Yeah that was just for the break in period. As for the long driving try to say far behind semi's and other cars to avoid unnecessary rock chips. Also you could tape up your front end with blue painters tape if you really wanted to prevent rock chips, and it will also get you alot of "weird" looks, lol.

Exactly, no tail gating and stay away from the semi's to avoid road debris. Enjoy the ride.

You should be fine unless you have the urge to outrun a police officer of the law. Have a good trip.

Another great example of how a simple search would have provided tons of info on this subject...

I got my 06 a 5 weeks ago and have already put 3.5k miles, including an 800miles trip and many shorter one's (i'm a photographer so I drive alot). I usually I check fluids before leaving.

Only problem i had is with the seats, they hurt my sides during a long trip, definitely not the most comfortable seat i have had for a long drive (i'm not big either, waist is 33")

Maybe bring a small pillow to support your lower back.

On longer trips, my lower back starts to hurt from no support.

drove from new orleans to atlanta then to charlotte the next day. 700+ miles then 300+, no issues but you may want to painters tape the front bumper, car was perfect before but i have a huge dent in the hood (tape wouldnt have helped), but i got a LOT of rock chips
