Default Looking Into a 2003 350z

Hey guys, I'm not quite a Z owner yet but will be soon. I was wondering if there are any issues that I need to be careful about since I am buying an 03. Especially with it being the first year the car came out. I have heard about the tire feathering, but was wondering if there are any other issues I should be worried about. The one I am looking into is a touring package with 44000 miles on it.

Do a quick search on this site to find the main things you need to look out for. Check the carfax info. And when buying a used car it is always a good idea to get it inspected by a mechanic that isn't associated with the dealer, that way you have the highest chance of getting an unbiased opinion. Also take it for a test drive and just use good common sense.

brakes, brakes, brakes. Also, sometimes the exhaust pipes stick out one further than the other. Mine does that and i've seen many 03's have the same problem......but nothing a few hundred bucks can't fix with aftemarket parts

Also, sometimes shifting makes clunking noises. it's normal. Just something to get used to. Some do it and some don't.

I had a 03, loved it. The only problem was front end alignment issues eating tires. Nissan replaced with 2 new Bridgestones.

lol tire feathering and window motor's are actually the easier problems to take care of... 6Spd Transmissions are arguably the biggest problems you can run into with the 2003's. The synchro in 3rd going out is the most common I believe. Test drive it, make sure that transmission shifts into each gear without any grinding or the need for excessive force to get it into gear.

Other than that, the engine is amazing, the car is sexy, and the other problems aren't too bad. Transmission transmission transmission!!
