I simply park next to other nice sports cars or luxury vehicles. I assume the owners of these vehicles have a different level of respect for cars than the people that drive the PoS rides with rust and are dirty etc... The only door ding I've ever had was the first day I parked my car at school. Almost looked like someone did it on purpose...

I always park far away, in school, malls, everywhere i go i pick the farthest spot. I don't mind walking extra if i can avoid haters/careless people keying or hitting my car with their car's doors.
When i goto my friend's or girlfriend's house i usually park in their private spot and if its full i make them move their shitty car

I am looking into buying that two-way alarm with the motion sensor warning too :O

This is why I have a 96 accord. Sure it would be nice to take my Z downtown on a friday night for everyone to see. But the last thing i want is to PARK my Z downtown on a friday night for everyone to see....

Had a dent in my driver's door, paid a guy $70 to remove it (Paintless dint remover)
A week later the passenger had one. I am thinking of hooking 220v of electricity to the doors. LOL

I always pick the far corner of parking lots also.If I have to park next to cars I always try to park next to nice ones hoping the owners are carefull and paranoid like me.I NEVER park next to mini-vans Or large SUVs with highschool sports stickers or bumper stickers on them because that means soccer mom,and trust me they cant drive and they dont give a **** about your car. There is a dude that lives in my complex that got a 2008 nismo a few months ago.So whenever we get the chance we park next to each other in the last two spaces for piece of mind.A couple weeks ago somebody crushed his bumper at a metro parking lot and of course didnt leave any info.

Funny story, i went to the gym today and i parked in the last parking spot on the side of the gym. There was not a car within 50 spaces of me, and i come out of the gym maybe 2 hours later and their is 3 cars near mine, well i now happen to have a small paint chip on my driver side door... LIke Honestly what more do i have to do to keep my car from getting hit??

I have a paging alarm and I am a great shot, I don't worry about parking my car anywhere.

.. but I will be damned if I could go a week parking in Seattle without some ******* door dinging me or hitting my car. this past week alone someone put 3 small little dents on the passenger rear fender, then two days later, someone hit my mirror and scraped a little paint off.

lazy fat ****in america we live in :P

I would think parking at the end of a lot or far away from everyone else would only draw MORE attention to your car, not less.

Scumbags may see your car at the end of the lot and seek it out on purpose because its by itself.

I just try parking next to nicer cars.

Park very, very far away or worst case just don't go.

No reason to feel uncomfortable with driving your car to certain places.

Although, its not a Ferrari so don't worry about it.

I parked outside my local bowling alley in a corner with a fence on 1 side and an open spot to the left. Well I come out to see someone parked about 1 foot away to the left and a lifted truck parked about 2 feet behind me. So the fence was on my right side, parking stump in front, car on left side and a truck behind me. The guy who parked his truck there came out about 5 min later and was like ohh sorry did I block you in.

I agree with those who say parking far away only attracts more attention from those willing to damage your car. Typically those dings that happen when you park close are accidents from careless people, not malicious ones.

I typically park two to three spots beyond the last car in the row if I'm worried about it, so its far enough that most likely there wont be anyone parking next to me, but its close enough to the other cars not to draw the attention of the jerks who like to mess with cars.

its worked out well so far, I've only gotten one door ding in 2.5 years, and tha was from an old man who opened his door too far while in a handicap space.

i actually hate people who take two spots if they dont drive something ridiculously nice. And sorry guys our Z doesnt fit that discription. But yea theres not much you can do other than park at end spots and hope your one neighbor isnt a dick head. If I park far from everyone, I come back to my car hours later to find cars parked around me for some reason.

reserve judgment based on the scenario for taking two spots, imo. if parking is tight and not many spots are available, it's a dick move. if it's a wide open parking lot .. who cares. why does a car have to be worth a certain dollar amount to care about keeping it in as pristine condition as possible? take some pride in your car :]
