With GT wheels once again off the car, embarked on the "summer refinish project"...
These were really rashed.... no spot repair workable. Entire 360-degrees needed work. Can't believe I actually bought and ran them like this knowing my OCDness. Hahahaha!
Above and below: Initial sanding.
Note rattle cans in background. Loves me some ghetto wheel painting.
Filler(curing). Did initial sanding this evening. Set should be primed and ready for paint tomorrow sometime.
My dilemma now is choosing a color/finish. I could just go Hypersilver/clear but I've kind of been leaning towards the charcoal/graphite like my Niz wheels, just for a different look as its always worn silver. But that's the problem... too close to the Niz wheels that I might as well take the Niz wheels and put them on the '03.... and get NEW wheels for the Niz. Hahhahahaahahahahaha.... like how I'm talking myself into that option?
"But Mic, what about your Volks? You can put those on the Niz!!"
Last Sunday, I put the Z up on jack stands, scrubbed the wheels down, tightened some bolts and nuts on the exhaust, cleaned suspension and brake lines, washed the Z, and put her all back together to leave her in the garage.
Earlier in the day, I had driven through a fresh construction zone where they were laying down blacktop. Ugh...
Went to the dealer today and got a new thermostat drive belt and radiator hoses since the car was already torn down. The belt was a pain to put on since is was new. Other than that the rest was pretty easy.
On my way out of nissan today I ran into this beauty. I was drooling all over her sexyness
Really, Nissan dealer?? Like a Mulroney at $165+k isn't enough??
I *like* the GT-R but at that pricepoint, there's a whole bunch of other cars that I'd own before that. Our Nissan dealer - during the entire time we were leasing - kept calling about this or that GT-R that "just came in" and that we should "come on in to take a look." Uh, no.
