i humored at the idea of buying a carbon fiber hood a long time ago. until i realized the difference between the stock hood and the cf hood is about 3-5 lbs which is nothing it doesnt justify the cost associated with it.
and if your wrapping it the same color as your car your basically saying i want a stock 350z hood 3-5 lbs less weight though....because some people justify the cost because of the looks of carbon fiber....

I wouldn't doubt if it's the same or more than stock weight, typically they are not more than a pound less, but it will flow a hell of a lot more hot air out if it. I only wanted it for cooling reason.
Just installed my Kenwood headunit. Got a couple deep scratches on the screen during the install and I'm not too happy about it... but I'll deal with it for now. Everything works and the sound is noticeably crisper so I can't complain.
Next mods in the que: tints (been delaying for awhile), Transgo VB, and Fortune Auto coils will be installed in the Spring.
Cheers

The carbon hoods, depends on brands, models, dry vs wet, but most of the cheap ones we see, mine include, actually weights more than oem.
I actually bought mine for the same reason you did, it has vents and move hot air better. And i like the looks.
Over all, im happy with mine, and the performance i get with it is more than worth the extra weight
^^ I held the bottom of the assembly whiling very carefully and slowly used pliers to unscrew the top portion. I chewed up the black ring a bit but I couldn't care as its not going back on.

This. On my s2000 that top ring has notches for a screw driver. The z does not making it very difficult. That top black ring has to be unscrewed and hold the bottom as matt said so the assembly doesnt turn
