EDIT: I think my headlights are shot, it's getting foggy inside. Know anyone who can repair this? It makes me sad.
I know that I was looking at some headlight mods and anyone doing them wanted quite a bit in labor.
Might be easiest and least expensive to buy some depot lights. Just my 2

I considered the DEPO, but the OEM are real nice though. Do you have a range of what labor averages around to?
The places I looked into were no less than $250 in labor. Plus whatever parts and shipping.
Cheaper than buying oem but that's the low end. Not sure about how much parts would be.
I owned a set of DEPO lights on my Mitsubishi. They were a complete waste of money. I don't know if the company's now better or worse than they were 10 years ago, but what I can say is that in about a 15 months, the inside of the DEPO lenses started to delaminate and I swapped them back out for the OEMs and threw the DEPOs in the trash.
I managed to snag a new OEM driver's side headlamp assembly a couple weeks ago on Amazon for cheap, but I noticed they jacked the price right back up after I bought it. The replacement was fairly straightforward, but I need to adjust the beam on the new light (weekend project):
Genuine Nissan Parts 26060-CF40B Driver Side Headlamp Assembly
Sold by: Amazon.com LLC
Return eligible through Jun 9, 2017
$167.18
Since I still have the fogged-up but otherwise perfectly functional original 350Z lamp, I'm going to remove all the electronics and take the assembly apart in the oven when I have some time to spare and take a stab at cleaning and re-sealing it. I'll see if I can sell it for $150-$200 shipped to cover the cost of the new headlamp assembly.
If you can't find cheap OEM replacements, check out the thread about how to take these lights apart for cleaning or modding:

Thief!!!!
$167 for an 06+ light?!? OEM?!? Dayyyyyyyammmmmmm....you stole that!
Thought I got a good deal on an USED one at $100....now I feel like I overpaid.
So I had a little squeak on start up the other day so I had to tighten my new belt while I was in their decided I would make a little heat shield to cut down on my excessive hot air intake.
I can repair that, and so can MOTHERS. $20 at Wal Mart. It's a legit product.
I think it's the seal that's busted on both sides. But, I guess to be sure, I'll take up on that MOTHER kit if I see them at the store today then. I see it has a buffer/drill piece, I don't have a power drill. Though I wanted one, just don't need one yet. Hand-tools are fun lol
EDIT: Seeing someone making a heat-shield for their aftermarket-intake. Reminds me to try wrapping my aluminum tubing (Injen Long CAI) in gold-reflective to cool it down and see if it does anything. Might be fiberglass-silver reflective wrap is what I want.

So, I picked up a Fairlady badge on eBay cheap and decided I wanted to make an HR designation out of the letters just for grins. Trying to decide if I want it on the Z or not and if so, which location. Yes, I was bored. Thoughts?
most likely average person won't even know what that HR means. and i guess only SOME Z drivers would understand what HR stands for. and even then, SOME Z drivers would be able to distinguish HR from DE by external body parts. not a fan of it but if you are really that passionate about having an VQHR motor go for it
I'm not a fan but it's your car. Personally though, if it was me, I would want the finish of the two emblems to match. The 350z is a satin finish and the hr has a chrome finish. If you're gonna do it, do it right.
Nice. So what's next? Some kind of grill/mesh type thing so you don't pierce them in case you have to carry something back there?..
Just going to keep it like that, hopefully they get destroyed so I can buy a new sub and make a new box... I mostly just do these things for fun and to have a hobby. Once they are done it's onto something else and sometimes it gets expensive.
My car is already expensive enough. Lol. Between that in the renovations on our new home that my wife keeps wanting to do I can't afford any other hobbies

Oh yeah, that's in the plan. Thx. CAD buddy finished the HR to same scale as the 350 and I'm growing the models over the weekend. Will prolly cast them and then sandblast. Or, I might just change everything to black and paint the HR. Like I said, kinds bored atm. Lol
