I was actually going to look on here for a technical write up so that helps a ton! So far I've got everything tucked out of the way and I'm ready to start yanking the bolts on the bellhousing.
Good deal. In addition to that write-up, I also used the FSM. However, the FSMs from nico club have been removed since Nissan was threatening legal action

Feel free to PM me if you don't want a link to a copy of the FSM if you run into any snags along the way and I'll be sure to not email you a link to where you cannot download it if you don't tell me your year

Did a little work on my headlight retrofit...

You may have realized that this is on a set of '03-'05 headlights. Why?!? Why not just get a set of '06+ and do the STI lens swap? What's the matter with you?

Well, there are a few reasons that probably won't make a lot of sense to most. But, the short story is that I had an extra set of '03-'05 headlights in my garage since I'm apparently a hoarder of Z parts. I also have various projectors and retrofit parts lying around from past projects (a couple quad projector set-ups from previous vehicles). Lastly, it keeps me busy and gives me something to do

Plus, why not do something different? The final product will have a set of Morimoto Mini H1 bi-xenons in 3K with the OEM (albeit, crappy) reflector projectors in 5500K for good lighting regardless of the driving conditions. Plus, a few other components for extra credit.

Post up pics of the final product, I like how you put the hid projectors on the very bottom. I had taken out the DE projectors and retro'd 2.5s. I have blacked out 06's now and may go back to the retro DEs.

It's a lot of work and honestly it would have been easier to just get some '06+'s, but nothing too terrible to overcome. If you've done a retrofit in the past, then I'm probably not telling you anything new. I had to do a fair amount of trimming in the lower reflector bowl, the top flange of the bowl for the H1 projector, and the lower trim that I skinned in CF in order to get the cutoff and step aligned.

Let me know if you need any parts if you go back to the 03-05's. I've got some leftovers from the donor lights.

I took my car for a drive through some local state forest here in CT, the place I was at is most noted for being the perfect spot to do donuts. I Wish it was cleaner when I took this but I washed it the day prior, oh well black cars NEVER stay clean I guess.

I learned my temporary peel coat isnt coming off without sandpaper..

Filled in some holes.

Thats about it for the week.

Spent 2 hours trying to remove a very small section of peel coat, and also tried a pressure washer... No dice

A new Corolla kicked up something big and heavy onto my windshield.

On the bright side I finished up my custom rear beam.

Final exhaust pieces came in. I then realized it'll probably come out sounding similar to AAM's single since they use Vibrant to build theirs.

Any more details on this? I'd be interested in adding one to my car.

Not much to it, 6061 aluminum square tubing, a couple of L brackets, stainless nuts/bolts, cut and finish to your liking. I've seen others use DOM tubing or even stainless.

Storage isn't really affected, haven't had a spare since 2005. lol

I haven't been to the track in years and from daily driving, no noticeable difference.

I got the initial idea from member "Cupcar" except I lack the welding skills. Lots of great info on why the Nismo has the mass damper in the rear.

Edit: I did, however, re-install the OEM front strut bar and totally noticed a difference. I previously had the Greddy bar, then went to an APS bar. IMO any bars with pivot points are most likely not nearly as effective as the stock bar.

And not for the Z but I have to break into my Evo since I can't find the key and the battery died after sitting for several months.

I just ordered the air wedge hopefully this works. Otherwise I was going to tap into the starter to power the locks.

Installed Invidia Gemini few weeks ago never got around to taking pics, but pretty nice deep sound. Paired with reasonated test pipes its at the perfect level of sound I want, not too raspy, not too loud but able to put down some noise at higher RPM. Enough of that obnoxious loud stuff for me.

Few years ago I bought a set of Enkei RPF1s from a friend who had them on an evoX and they were 18x9.5 +15 all around. I told myself I'll find a pair of used 18x10.5s easily but thats not the case. Ordered a pair from tire rack and new tires as well.

Awaiting my JWT clutch/lightweight flywheel coming in tomorrow and hoping to install soon!

And a nice computer piece came from Japan!

Side note, going to put car in shop next month probally for Nismo V2 front, sides and TS rep diffuser. eyeing the blitz spoiler also but will order from Zstore.
