Haven't updated in awhile... Have been bored and toiling while I wait for my lt4 engine mounts to arrive in January..
Do some/picked up some cool things in the meantime.
Dry carbon, ceramic coated front brake ducts, new hubs, and arp long studs.
Cleaned up the arms, then got a wild hair to have them polished and clear powder coated.. New ball joints finally too 👌
Voodoo13 outter rod ends w bump steer spacers to mate up with extended length gkteck inner tie rods... And locked in with the billet version FDF mantis lowers...alllowing front width to extend a full 2 inches ea side.. (waiting for Voodoo13 to finish custom machined longer billet uppers for me.. They're local buddies)
Lol being a dipsht with my new 3 gallon Peterson Fluids dry sump oil tank..
Fixed the rust and sanded /etched/ repainted under the battery tray.
Had the engine built up with a large cam, upgraded dual valve springs, trunion upgrade, dod delete, new timing chain and plugs, a new high pressure DI mechanical fuel pump, and had the Katech 103mm throttle body pet matched while Kong Performance ports the entire super charger internally.
Billet valve covers, a bunch of other random ****.. I'll leave it there because, well it's not my build thread, it's just a parts/ progress show off thread lol.
If anyone ever wants tips on ruining ones life by dumping enormous loads of cash into a now 15 year old Nissan, I'm yer guy
I went away for a couple of years so my Z has been sitting in the driveway for close to three years. Dead. I finally got around to working on getting it running again. Pumped out the old fuel and replaced with fresh fuel. Pulled fuel pump fuse to prime the oil pump and motor with some oil before firing it up. Upon firing it up and letting it idle, she had high idle! I had this problem before after cleaning the TB on a DE and I had to replace the ECU to get the problem fixed. Well, I knew I shouldn't have to replace anything since I haven't touched anything. Took three days of sitting in the car doing the pedal dance to reset the ECU to get the idle back to normal. It finally stuck today. It's idling nicely.
I'll be changing the fluids soon (motor oil, transmission, diff, and coolant) along with the radiator and drive belt.
Is there anything else I might be missing that you guys can think of to get my car back to road-worthy conditions? I'd like to minimize any potential damage to internals from it sitting so long. I'll be sending an oil sample to Blackstone for analysis as well.
