I connected the battery and started her up. Backed out of the garage and warmed up the engine. Parked it back into the garage and took the daily to grab lunch.

Installed very clean, low-mileage take-off OEM rear brake calipers/brackets, rotors and parking brake shoes. Bled the brakes and adjusted the parking brake.

The old calipers (likely the originals with 129k miles on them now) were no longer sliding correctly on the caliper guide pins (especially right rear), leading to excessive wear on the inside pad (the piston side) as the caliper couldn't slide to apply even pressure from both pads.

Now I just need to find similar low-mileage or clean parts (or, worst-case, re-manufactured) to refresh the front brakes to have it all "match".

Today I installed my front lip, received it over 2 weeks ago, it was delivered with a crack in it, had to get it fixed at first. Love the new look, I am sitting at roughly 2" lower then before.

15 years of ownership, 39k miles, never had an issue with my Z, all work done carefully by myself with each nut, bolt, clip always back in to spec. The one and only time I ever took it in to the dealership for the rear axle click under warranty and they effed up the parking brake. Pull up the parking brake after I got home and the car starts sliding back down the driveway. Wudaffers. Damn. Nissan. Dealership.

Fixed the P-0455 EVAP leak issue by purchasing a $3.44 Stant gas cap from Rock Auto, and then just moving the gasket from the new cap over to my OEM cap. I've added 150 miles of driving over a couple of days, along with a fuel fill-up and many ignition/start cycles, and no CEL (yet...famous last words...knock on wood...etc.).

Also, I did find a good set of low-mileage take-off front calipers and rotors this week, so I'll be putting those on before too long.

Last night I installed Raybestos H6017 drag reduction clips on the rear pads. I had to go back in there as one of the caliper bracket bolts had backed out. This must have been a stupid mistake on my part, as I've never had that happen before. I added a touch of thread locker to the caliper bracket bolts and re-installed them. Everything was working well through about 100 miles of driving this morning.

I introduced it to a deer at 55mph. The impact damaged my bumper, hood, and windshield. I was pretty pissed about it. The deer survived, surprisingly.

More damage than going over one with the smell of medium rare venison on exhaust plumbing. Just happened to my friend, ran over a large dead animal. lol

Haha.. It's funny you say that, because the same thing happened to the predecessor to the car behind my Z. Ripped the whole under tray out. Same thing happened in my Z, actually, but with no damage. Just hair. I don't know why these things don't happen when I'm driving my truck.

No, I didn't. SES lit up again yesterday. I'll have to investigate other triggers for P-0455.

I bought the Z1 Brake Master Cylinder Brace, and i also bought the Bell Race Works Rear Differential Brace. So.... oil change this weekend and install both braces.
I hope its at least noticeable improvement.

I have both of those in my wishlist too. That rear differential brace caught my attention.. I'm curious to see if it works.

Drove up to Crestline. Installed new Recaros SPG Profis seat cover, and I'm just daydreaming over a pair of Recaro RS-G now... oh, if it makes you feel better, I too, have run over a dead animal. Spent the evening cleaning the undercarriage while holding back from breathing in that sweet sweet venison 20 mins after a 3-4 hours detail.

Made a new sub box and put it in yesterday, still doesn't sound as good as the 15 I had before but does use much less space.

Set out to make it simple, ended up, not so much.

I still got a few things, nothing much of value, mostly just spare parts I plan to hold onto at this point... I do have a taken apart motor in my basement I can't bring myself to scrap.

More pics of the box..

Upgraded the system in the old lady's roadster. Pioneer 4500NEX headunit (added reverse camera, love the wireless CarPlay/AA), Metra Axxess steering wheel controler (manual setup needed to get alll the buttons mapped properly), Polk 6.5" in the doors and rear, Pionner 10" shallow sub and box (perfect fit in the stock sub location), Soundstream 5 channel amp (also fits great in the glove box), NVX sound dampening. Overall, really pleased with the sound.

Default I'm back!

Leaving where I left off far too long ago, I got the Z back from the shop a couple weekends ago. Unfortunately, I was too busy to wash the Z for the last 2 weekends.

Today was the day she got her long deserved bath and interior cleaning (except the carpet). Like always, using:
Meguiars Gold Class shampoo and their drying towel, Meg interior detailer, Meg Ultimate interior protectant, and switching it up with Lexol's Leather Cleaner and Conditioner.
Lexol did a great job on the leather! Not only the beautiful leathery aroma, but the feel of the leather is just astounding!

Just look at all that OEMness. Some day it'll be a "classic" and being stock will be rare lol.

Gotta keep the interior cleaner than the exterior!

Sure glad the center console paint is still holding up. Rustoleum did NOT fail there!

Lexol cleaned these babies up real good!

Try cockpit premium, I'll never use anything else, smells amazing, no residue and no extra shine. Just looks brand new!
