Also, can anyone tell me what the difference between 'Horse Power' and 'Brake Horse Power' is?

most people on this site have said 17% drive train loss for 6 speed manual transmission.

Brake HP is what a dyno measures at the wheel. Car manufacturers generally spec crank HP which is higher since no drive train loss. They don't say crank HP in the advertisements, but that's what they mean

Its got to be more than 17% I hope. From what I have gathered from my dyno tests, I think it is more like 20%. I am no expert, and would also like to find out the true number.

the most common dyno i've seen is ~245rwhp which is a 15% loss.

What kind of losses are experienced in other cars of similar purpose? I guess my question should be, is the loss found in the Z uncommonly high in comparison to other sports cars?

240 comes in at like 18%. but this all depends on conditions, dyno machine used, calibration, smoothing, ect. 15% on a rwd car would be incredable, fwd shoots for 15% rwd ussually comes in around 20, so 18 for 6mt and 21 or so for automatic is more or less on par; not great, but not bad either.

well for reference, i pulled 237.9whp and 230.9 wtq

i was completely stock

287/237.9= 82.8%= ~17%

I think the viscous limited slip adds a lil more to our drivetrain lose as compared to other rwd w/o LSDs.
