Really? You can't in Ohio. And I am pretty sure that you have to be 18 in most, if not all, states. You can't even get a drivers license without a parents signature.

Even those states that will permit a teenager to register a car may require a parent or guardian to sign on any legal documents or contracts since they are still a minor. For instance, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) states if you are under 18 and want to title a vehicle, your parent or legal guardian must complete a minor consent form. A parent or legal guardian must also accompany you when you appear in front of the Clerk of Courts title office staff to have a vehicle titled in your name in Ohio if you are a minor.

For a state that busts your ***** for so many things, PA seems to be pretty lax on things like that. You can get a concealed carry permit in PA just by being alive - of course it won't be valid in Ohio, or lots of other states either.

It's valid in West Virginia. That's all I care about.

From the PA DOT site:
Visit a Driver License Center with:

* The completed DL-180
* The completed DL-180TD (if under the age 18). This form must be completed by a parent, guardian, or spouse who is 18 years of age or older.

Whatever that is? I went through my high school and my driver's ed teacher took me on a drive for an hour then stamped my learner's permit and I took it to the DMV, had my picture taken, and they gave me my license. Whether he sent in any forms or what, I don't know.

My condolences to the family of both the driver and the girl in the hospital. RIP to the driver.

No one deserves to die, except for murderers, rapists and child molesters. Especially not a 17 year old kid who was just trying to show off to get laid. Yeah it was stupid, but we've all done stupid stuff to try and impress a lady, and we've been fortunate enough to survive our stupidity. Him, not so fortunate.

it comes down to this. Sorry and sucks that this happened to a young kid of all people. But hey such is life. No need or reason to dwell to no end about it.

The negativity around here from some of the older members always amazes me. It sucks he died, but he really was driving like an idiot. I'm not saying he deserved it, but he was kind of asking for it. Either way my condolences go out to the families of both the driver and the girl in the hospital. Hopefully she at least pulls through.

People are heartless.

What 17 year old DESERVES to die? He's barely lived and you think driving too fast in a car YOU think he didn't deserve constitutes his life being taken away. Heartless. Mass murders, rapists, terrorists....they deserve to die. A junior in high school, getting ever closer to graduation with aspirations to college does not and any of you who think so are pieces of s***.

And the car he drives doesn't matter. Every last teenager drives like a retard. I have friends who were in two separate roll over accidents. They occurred in a 95 Explorer and 91 Buick. Hell the 350z would have been safer!

The only car a teenager should be allowed to drive has a 15mph limiter and wrapped in bubble wrap and foam core.

Someone who doesn't respect life. Someone whose actions put themselves and others in danger.

Did the driver in this case deserve to die? I don't know. But his recklessness certainly caused his own - deserving or not.

BTW - don't confuse "deserve to die" with "deserve to be put to death or killed".

I love the irony of your screen name - RocketCoffin.

I disagree. To "deserve" something means that you "should" have it. This was a young kid simply being a young kid. This is the type of **** they do. Essentially, all you're saying is that this kid "should" die because of his actions. That's a pretty disgusting statement to make considering we've all been young and stupid at some point in our life. This kid isn't different from any of us.
