I'm with you on this. It's really not fun anymore. A kid has to be a complete douche now just to have any fun with.

As I said in recent post, it's not much of an accomplishment if you are still living at home even if you do pay for it along with paying a few basic bills. They are so cheap now that a minimum wage job can get you one if you are good at saving money.

We should route this thread into the 370Z section... maybe there is more bait over there?

I doubt it but we could have a lot of fun with a kid who has a 370 and then tells us how hard he worked to buy it on his own, lol.

I was never given a car at 15, some people are lucky they have parents to support them. think about this, kids could start working at 16, save up every penny and In 2-3 years afford a 15k car. It doesn't really matter what age you are.
Age 16-17 I had $1,500 Pos 240sx,

after working my *** off here and there, saving every single penny i could get my hands on. going to coinstar every month to cash in my coins. collect recycles, selling most of my belongings. I always wanted a Z but knew i couldnt afford so i settled for buying an RSX-s to meet my budget. then after so many failed deals, found a very nice 350z and jumped on it. had a little support from family, not a lot tho. and bought it. feel so accomplished. paying my own insurance as a 17 year old at the moment too, so im not spoiled as you may believe..
Flame coming on this one junior.....

Accomplished.. How? Going through couches looking for loose change?

Selling most of my belongings??? What...Selling the bed your parents gave you and sleeping on the floor? Not wearing socks??

What happened to the RSX-s? Its not on the list. Let me guess.. Totaled. If true you have totaled 2/3 of the cars you have owned or driven.

Support you mean.. Room and Board, Cash, Cell bill, Paying your folks for the loan. If you miss a couple dollars a month its on them.

Hate to tell you this but if there are payments on the car to a bank the loan is in your parents name. You being 17 can't take a loan. Hence.. Junior.

Real nice of you to pay for your own insurance and all. Seeing you do drive the car.

I never got the rsx. I ment to say was that I was going to settle for less due to budget. But I got the Z. I didn't get the Z on payments, I payed full cash. I know you guys think I'm all stupid and dumb and immature and I respect where you guys are coming from. I do admit I may not be as mature as you elder experienced members, but I'm trying my best to learn. Also I did get 2 jobs, and I know i did not pay for living expenses because I still live with parents. That saved me a lot..Like I said before I did get some Financial support from parents. Just very minimal though. And as for selling things, I was selling shoes like jordans to make profit. And I have only totaled one car. I wasn't being stupid either, I got cut off by a car and it was excessively raining and very dark. Thus leading to losing control.. I'm not planning on abusing my Z but rather to cherish her.. But yes I am paying my own insurance bills, and gas that most other teenagers like me get money from parents. Just wish I can get some respect from some members here.. Thanks.

Gr8, another shoe entreprenuer. Where does school fit into all of this for you? I also love you definition of minimal financial support? What kind of car would you be driving if not still living at home? I doubt you would even be able to afford insurance on a Z at your age if you had to support yourself.

Didn't we have another shoe Kid before? He sold pacifiers too. I thought??

Junior.... Did you start out selling pacifiers as well? And don't even tell us your supplier is from Israel. We've been told this story once.

Out of curiosity... What is really no financial support? In a 17 year olds eyes.

****, poontang was easier than talking my folks into even letting me buy a car, much less a 240!

I don't really give a **** what you guys say anyway. I have my Z so I don't need a ****ing blessing from old men who want to relive high school drama on a ****ing forum ment to bring 350Z owners together as a community not just the old men using there Z to get a slight boner without Viagra. I'm probably ****ing your daughters in high school right now anyway. So i will enjoy the next posts you guys will try to flame about me having a Z. At the end of the day I have my Z and you have to face your midlife crisis. Alright fasho.

So, remind us again why you are posting in this thread to begin with? We couldn't care less that you have a Z. We just like to point out to youngsters who claim they "bought it all by myself" that nothing could be further from the truth; and your little rant brings a smile to our faces because everything in that could also not be further from the truth. Thanks for sharing. FYI - my daughters are a bit out of high school but pretty sure they would put you in the "douchebag" category were they to read your drivel, lol.
