I raced(on a closed course
) a turbo RX-8 with a built engine (ceramic rotors or something like that
) and at the time I had CAI, Exhaust and a tune. It was so close it wasn't even funny he got me by about 1/2 a fender. He almost started crying he had an insane amount of money dumped into the engine/turbo kit
he sold it shortly after that. So the 8 is certainly not going to be anywhere near as fast ![dunno](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/dunno.gif)

How's this then- Elise/Super Seven or bust. I don't see a point in getting a headache of a car unless it excels at something. Z has that daily balance through the roof and thus bang for the buck. Evo would be its AWD brother no doubt.

I've owned an RX8 and now a 350Z. I wouldn't have bought a 350Z if the RX8 weren't garbage. Yeah, it handled well and was pretty. Trans went at 8K miles, buttons on the dash stopped working, steering wheel was replaced under warrenty. Not to mention the lack of power and the weakly built engine. Mazda's main problem with the rotary is the apex seals, so what do they do? Go with a smaller seal in a new material. Apparently overkill is not part of their company mindset. Mazda did a vacuum test on my engine to see if it needed to be replaced under a recall. The last straw was when I heard clunking from the diff and the dealership said they didn't hear it. Every freakin shift! I bought my 350z that day. Not looking back, sold my FC too. Now I have 3 Z cars

Threads like this are always interesting. I can say that I have enough experience with both to know which is the clear winner, but in a discussion based on opinion, I'd just like to say I'm a fan of going fast and having fun, something both cars can do.

yeah ahahha the Skyline 350GT. My friend removed his stock badges and put these on there. Then I see it on a bunch of other G35s. But dang That video was great!!! I love the Z and the S2000, my two favorites.
