Default New owner and need advice

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently purchased the 03 touring 350z brickyard red myself. I have been researching to see what to do. Tanabe gf210 $200 new or a friends used $600 Stance Coilover. I need advise badly. Im lookin for a nice drop as well as handling. Also, I am looking at a set of 18X8.5 frontwith +30 offset about 23.8lbs, 18X9.5 rear +25 offset about 23.4lbs. With anticipated drop of 1.2", what size tires should I get? I want that nice drop without changing fenders and others....Help

Also, looking at purchasing used megan headers for $150. SHould I?

I want to keep the 350Z exhaust and possible just change test pipe. Or what should I do? Test pipe? if so resonated or non-resonated? down pipes? whats the difference between test pipe and down pipe? whats more hp gain?

Most of all, what should I do to accommodate my want:
-Lowered nicely
-Fittings with my rims and its offset including tire size
-350z sound with a louder sound
-More HP

As you can see, I need HELP guys!

No, you have a DE, bolt-ons are a waste of money.

If the coilovers are in good condition go with those. Your proposed tire sizes and offsets are weak. The norm around here is usually fronts 9.5 +22 or lower and rears 10.5 +22 or lower. Do some research in the wheel threads. Used mega headers? LULZ. Aftermarket headers do pretty much nothing for the 350z so scratch that out. Last but not least search, search, and search some more. All these topics have been covered.

I don't like to buy used suspension components so I would go with the Tanabe's if those are the only two things you're looking at now. Or save up for some new coilovers.

No. Those are poor sizes, might as well just run your stock wheels. Get something in the teens (Like +15 +17 +18 etc).

What model is your Z? Do you have VDC? You will need to roll your rear fenders unless you are running stock sized tires and offset. I would do 255 up front and 285-295 in the rear and appropriate the rest to fit your wheel/diameter requirements.

Get the Nismo exhaust. Has stock look and great sound. I would skip on the test pipes, save the planet and yourself from heavy fines/tickets.

Take your time and do not rush your mods. Do it right the first time around. Searching the forum helps a lot

I have a DE and had Nismo exhaust... sounded just right. I added test pipes and the car was *$&@@*#@ obnoxious... they came right off. I now have Nismo and high flow cats, and it is loud... but not test pipe, beans in a tin can lame rice loud.

As also stated, do not do NA mods to your car... you will gain nothing and lose money.

Enjoy the new ride!

id get the coilovers over the springs if it's in good shape. i'd skip out on the headers, specially any parts made by megan.

congrats on the Z, looks like you have a lot planned for your Z, if u can spend the extra money definately get the coilovers, you'll have a great stance and handling will improve greatly.

Remember that the megan headers are a PITA to install and ur most likely going to have to get it installed, do it all together when you get resonated test pipes so you don't have an annoying drone.

what's your budget for a new set of wheels & tires? Send me a PM if there's anything else i can help you out with

Really? Post your time here and show us. What are you running? 12.7? 12.6?

I love my bolt ons, but bought them cheap to replace my missing stock stuff from being turbo . I also love my APS true dual exhaust with oem cats sound and look. Sounds like a jet engine when you push on it and nice and quiet on freeway speeds so i dont get head aches.

check the vid, recorded with a cell phone so the sound is much better in person and the rattle is not from the exhaust, but you get the idea.

Yeah skip the Megan headers and get AAM or Motordyne plenum spacer for same price but get an actual hp gain thru-out powerband.

You drive a VQ35DE with no headers and can beat these times? Add your name or shut up.
