i have a question i was looking to replace my battery on my car with a optima red top battery someone i know from work is sell but i see on the battery the top positive post is on the left side and not on the right side. is there a adapter i could buy that would give me more feet of wire that would reach to the left post since i see the power wire has a fuse block on it.

I don't know how much he is selling his battery for , but Advanced Auto Parts is having a promo coupon DOW19 for 40 off 100 which I think applies to batteries. Might be worth it to get a new one with a warranty instead of a used one depending on how much he is selling his for. I bought the yellow top for mine and it hasn't given me any problems.

Optimas are very expensive and over rated.
Theres a consumer report for Optima (Red top tests) that suggested their life expectancy was no more than a standard/budget battery (despite the early manufacture claims) Interestingly Optima no longer put a label/stated life expectancy on their stands.

Really i had no ideal the newer red top's were not the same anymore. i had the older one's which lasted me for 5 years. so i just figure since the guy was asking $40 for it i jump on it. but after seeing the power post was on the left and not on the right i had to see if they made a adapter that would fix that problem.

$40 sounds like a bargain, but I would strongly encourage anyone looking at used batteries to have them load-tested before purchasing, as the warranty coverage is only good for the original purchaser.
ZILVER-Z33, which consumer report are you referring to and can you please provide a link? We still advertise that our batteries can last up to twice as long as traditional flooded batteries. While the quality of our batteries has always been excellent, the batteries we are making today are the best we have ever made. If anyone has any questions about them, I'll do my best to answer them.
