I've been partial to chevron for years, and then I got a crazy high-compression setup on my integra. My time with the integra only proved it more. Under high load and low rpm i would get occasional pinging, and i got that the least with CHEVRON

I was a Shell follower for many many years until I moved to No. Calif. and many of the mechanics recommended switching to Chevron (which I did). It's supposed to have better cleaning properties.

Is it possible to get higher than 91 octane in CA, or is that some kind of state regulation? I can't find more than 91, and I believe the Z would make more power with 93 or 94 (according to Sport Compact Car magazine).

I have never seen one in Cali with more than 91 octane. Which 76 stations have you seen 100 octance? Any in Mt. View?

The one on the corner of almaden and foxworthy (right around the corner from capitol nissan) had 100 (just moved from that area)
I just checked www.76.com and you can search for stations that have 100 octane. click on station locator, and put in an address and check Racing Fuel. The only one within 20 miles of 94043 is the one I mentioned above.
The one by Cottle and Blossom hill used to have it (used to work at IBM) but it doesn't come up on the 76 web site.
