It's more expensive to have the OEM radio rebuilt (over $300 with pack/shipping), so just get an inexpensive radio/CD unit and be done with it. Maybe add Bluetooth while you're at it and call it good.
Same thing happened to my previous 03 track edition. I went through the hassle of taking apart the head unit to get the CD out only to find out 2 days later it had happened again. I bought a used OEM head unit for like 20 bucks here on the forum and called it a day.
As others have said, replacing the head unit with an aftermarket one is probably better. I hate how the aftermarket units don't keep an OEM style finish, so on my 07 Nismo, I just kept the OEM unit and installed one of those iSimple Bluetooth interface modules. Now I have Bluetooth connectivity for playing music out of my iPhone and hands free talking.

I'm thinking of replacing the radio what make/model do you recommend? I would like to be able to stream music via bluetooth and also hook up a wireless back up camera. I'm not real good at this stuff but willing to try. I saw a youtube on how to take the radio out it was a bit scary.
You are on the right path (i.e., replace your car’s H/U). You will get a much better result replacing the H/U, amps, and speakers.
Even the inexpensive H/U's provide great sound, external amp and SubW support, and backup video.
It's very easy installing and wiring this stuff in a 350z. The car has a plethora of cubbies and wiring paths.

All I want to do is replace the head unit. Main goal is a back up camera I really don't listen to the radio while driving with the top down, I enjoy the sound of the car more. Any suggestions on a unit with video input and blue tooth? Must be a youtube out there but I can find it I'm sure lots of you have replace the head unit with something better. Do I need a special bracket or wiring harness?
