Why does everyone dislike the 350Z?
i've driven the s2k, rx8, evo... owned a wrx.. and now a Z
I had a STi on order but the dealership decided that they wanted to screw me for $500 worth of "fees" so i decided to buy a Z instead... i had my eyes on the Z for a long time...
IMHO,
WRX: all around fun car... i like the AWD, the practicality... but it had turbo lag... and that's why i ordered the STi....
s2000: fast steering... fun, but torqueless... didnt want a convertible...
rx8: comparable to the s2000... it was also fun, but also torqueless ... the 4 seats would have been nice... but it just didnt have the power i was looking for... plus it was a rotary...
EVO: wow... the steering on this thing is amazing... it was very fun... it had just a tad bit of turbo lag, but that would not have stopped me from buying it... were it not a Mitsubishi and its known "reliability" i just might have gotten one...
STi: the car that i never drove, but had been drooling for... i finally got to sit in one at thunderhill... and it handle so well... but having owned the Z for awhile, i found the STi to feel too high off the ground... my Z at thunderhill just felt so solid with its lower center of gravity...
i'm very happy with my decision with the Z... and all the cars mentioned are probably just as fun to own... it all depends on what you're looking for...
in the end, if we're talking about competition, its really about the driver anyway... so the hating and trash talk is useless if you cant drive

Like i said i juts purchased a 350z.. i test drove the 6spd rx-8 and obviously the 6spd 350z and NO COMPARISSON went into it nuetral cause i saw stuff i liked from both and 350z blew it the F away. Handling and speed and the looks now in my opinion... just wish it had a backseat i guess... but i also drove an evo and sti whom are owned by my friends and they have driven mine and commented very nicely on the handling and the speed, said it should keep up with them stock with some nice mods so yeah!!!!!
All I can say is when I see a s2k on the road watch out. Like prey to the predator. I absolutely loathe that car. Not that I dislike the car, it's got nice looks especially with the top down, but every person, guy or girl, that I come across in the honda seems to think that it is in the same league as my Z, and that's a load of BS. So naturally I have to show them exactly what a Z can do. It has become my arch nemesis on the streets, and I'm always keeping my eye open for the opportunity to smoke one.

But I also like to keep an eye open for them. The s2k is on my number one spot for cars I want to race the most. But I do lo0ve that car.
Just sold my vette and bought a Z. The C5 is a great car, but the Z has a better feel and more up to date styling...drove the RX8 before buying the Z and there was NO comparison...the 8 was sluggish, cramped and cheaper feeling
i test drove the rx8, looked at the s2000, didn't like complete lack of space(you know i comparison to the suburban of a car the z is). The rx8 was a fun car to drive, but like what other people have said, there was a complete lack of low end torque, you had to get that thing reving before the thrills appeared. i also did not like the rotory engine, all the things i heared about flooding and such. however if the nissan engine was incorporated into the rx8 with same weight dist. i would prob. get an rx8, because of the four seats and the suicide doors, cool. plus mazda does not seem like the best car company, from what i heard other people say and what i have read. i must say i am extremely satisfied with my z, i love it more than anything. i gets crazy attention, which i am not used to yet,(ive only had it 4 days). i also let my step mother drive it the next day after i got it and she tore it up around the corners with the tcs going crazy...my pops is getting a sc430 shortly, hopefully we can trade cars occasionally :O)
