Default Need to replace stock muffler

Hey guys, I have a 2005 350Z that is completely stock. All I would like to do is replace the stock muffler with something that is not too expensive, not too loud, just want to have a bit of a roar. Not that I'm against loud exhaust, had plenty in my 68 years, need to turn it down a bit, but turn it up a bit from stock, what have others done?

I was reading about a muffler delete, sounds pretty good, not too loud, anyone done those. I there a kit already made up to do a muffler delete?

A muffler delete is NOT a good idea unless you're willing to put up with a very loud exhaust.

It sounds like what you're looking for is an axle back exhaust. I'm not sure if any are widely available for the 350Z. The invidia gemini catback is slightly louder than stock and not obnoxious.

Do not do a muffler delete unless you actually hear it in person and like it. It will be loud. And full of drone.

Muffler delete on these sounds surprisingly great on these . i don't know why people are bashing it(They probably have never heard it in person). I know someone whose pipe was disconnected from the muffler and it sounded really good. Not 1100$ exhaust good, but good, no rasp, not obnoxious

Just unbolt the muffler and just hear for yourself. It's a free mod to listen to how it will sound

My exhaust mods:
1st - Stock Exhaust, Cats installed still, removed the resonators. Sounded ok. Not much difference but had a slight BUZZZ to the exahaust.

2nd - I removed the cats and installed test pipes. - Had an AWFUL sound. To BUZZY. Sounded like crap.

3rd - I then reinstalled the resonators that I took out on the first mod. Sounds much better. No bay rasp or buzzying.

So, I have the stocked exhaust with Test Pipes. Sounds good to me. Not real loud or quiet.

I have this also, no cats, factory res/muffler. Except with a turbo. I would never change it

I did mine in components as my budget would allow I first started with a magnaflow exhaust then the motordyne mid pipe with resonator I removed the small stock muffler just near the rear axle with a vibrant resonator and then finally highflow cats this was done in the course of a year sounds amazing maybe spent 1200.00 over the course of that year!

Muffler delete sounds good at WOT but not very good at half throttle, and it drones a lot at highway speeds. Do not recommend.

Super baller on a budget method is to stack a few washers on the flange between the muffler and the mid pipe. For the most part the air+sound will flow through the muffler like normal, but at WOT it sounds similar to a muffler delete.
