Default Roll cages that don’t affect seat reclining?

I’m looking at getting a 4 point roll cage and harnesses for my 03 Enthusiast Z but for my friends sake I would still like to be able to recline and adjust both factory seats all the way with no issues

So another street car with a cage just for IG points or do you actually race? I don't think any bolt on cages allow reclining, might have to go custom.

Welcome, but I suspect you're thinking about a roll bar, not a roll cage, which extends all the way front to the A-pillars and back behind the C-pillars. As for building a roll bar that allows both seats to fully recline, you'd be compromising the design of any roll bar by deleting the diagonal brace that helps stiffen the entire structure. In the event of a rollover, the bar must reinforce the roof and C-pillar section to prevent cockpit intrusion. Moreover, the diagonal brace usually incorporates a harness bar that's built (if you're smart) to fit a race seat and the specific race harness to allow this equipment to work properly.

Any Z equipped with a U-shaped rollbar to allow for seat reclining doesn't really do much for rollover protection.

If you just want harnesses you can just get a "K" bar as well.

Hi, actually neither this car is meant to someday become a “safer” drifter. I know this car is far away from that since the manual swap will be way later on. Just trying to do safety mods atm but had no interest in getting rid of my stock seats at the moment, I’m really looking for something that will make my z safer without compromising my interior as I do prefer to keep it mostly oem in the cabin

The chance of you rolling the car are slim....you would have a higher chance of slamming into a pole on Thanksgiving

I don't think a cage is possible with a OEM interior unless it is custom made, like DK said a roll bar might be possible but won't provide a whole lot protection in a roll over situation

Roll bar with stock seats is far from safer.

get rollbar, race seats, harness , remove airbags and it quickly becomes a dedicated track car

Best "safety upgrades" are driver upgrades. Learn one's limits, and what to do beyond them. #drivingschool

Hey, I waited to give my annual soapbox preach four days into 2021.

Oh, hardware? Tires for your environment, brake upgrade (at least pads), fresh hydraulic fluids.
