I installed the aluminum kickplates in 15 minutes w/o any problems. It took me 14 minutes to do the driver-side and 1 minute to do the passenger-side.

Make sure you have the rubber seal pulled off and make sure the tabs are lined up w/ the slots.

we already looked into it, Not sure if just replacing or even an overlay would be worth it.

I don't hit the kickplates, I actually end up hitting the door with my toe a lot more. I've got some scuff marks there that luckily come out easily.

Default Kickplates

I haven't had any problems with them so far, but then I never touch them getting into the car. So you're saying we shouldn't hit them to knock stuff off our shoes/boots/whatever?
