Default spent the day at the track

well got 2000 miles on the new z and went to a meet at mir (buds creek maryland)

everyone was having trouble hooking up but it got better as the day went on.....

so many people we only got to run 3 times....

my first run i spun all the way through 3rd gear and pulled a 14.6 @ 98

second run i pulled a 2.1 60 foot and got a 14.1 @ 98

third run i spun through 1st and part of second and pulled a 2.04 60 foot and got a 13.87 @ 98

no mods ecept the top half of a nismo intake with a crushed nismo filter and stock potenzas on it.....(rest of the intake was a casualty in the wreck of the last z)

would have liked to get in a couple more runs...think i probobly got into the 13.7's

too many people to get any more runs in

my only concern was i never got mor than a 98mph trap speed...and i see alot of posts with the same times with trap speeds between 101 and 103 mph.... my 60foots arent that much slower than the average ive been seeing...i was at 2.1 and the average has been between 1.9 and 2.1 that ive seen posted....

am i loosing 5mph with that 10th im off with my 60 foot?

I find the magazines to be putting down pretty strange numbers overall. They can best be used as a guide, to give an idea of what a particular car could run (for better or for worse).

Awesome times Melissa!
6spd I'm assuming. What did you launch at? Did you do a quick burnout on the tires first?

I DIDNT HEAT THE TIRES UP ON THE FIRST RUN AND I LAUNCHED AROUND 2400 RPM.....I WAS IN THIRD GEAR BEFORE I EVEN GOT OFF THE CONCRETE PAD......LOL....ONCE I BROKE LOOSE I JUST STAYED IN IT TO SEE HOW FAR I COULD REALLY SPIN EM....!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
THE SECOND PAS I ACTUALLY HOOKED PRETTY GOOD AND I DID HEAT THE TIRES UP....I ALSO SLIPPED THE CLUTCH COMING OUT OF THE HOLE TO TRY AND KEEP FROM BREAKING LOOSE AGAIN.....

THE THIRD RUN I GOT A LITTLE EXCITED CAUSE THE ANOUNCER STARTED TALKING ABOUT MY CAR AND HOW I WAS GETTING FASTER ALL DAY WHILE I WAS STAGING AND I KINDA HEATED THE TIRES FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS!....THEN WHEN I LAUNCHED I GOT NERVOUS AND DUMPED THE CLUTCH AROUND 2600.....SPUN UNTIL PART WAY THROUGH SECOND AND THEN HOOKED

OVER ALL IM HAPPY WITH MY RUNS ...I THINK I COULD HAVE PULLED A 13.7 IF I WOULD HAVE HAD A COUPLE MORE PASSES.....

MY TRAP SPEED SEEMS A LITTLE LOW TO ME THOUGH

HPEFULLY ILL HAVE THE NISMO CLUTCH ,FLYWHEEL ,PRESSURE PLATE,HEADERS AND EXHAUST THAT I ORDERED ALREADY ON BY NEXT TIME....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was talking about a real track...tracks with turns are for people that cant make their cars go fast in a straight line so they throw turns in it to slow the competition down and level things out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol

im kidding i road race too....havent with a z yet ...i used to take my old s2000 to suummit point raceway in wv though

maybe the z will make it out there this year.....alot further of a drive from where i live now though

Nice times for stock!! You can launch this car. The trap speeds could be low due to elevation or temperature. 100-101 is common for a stock Z.

Any mods planned? I'd love to see how you'd do with another 30hp and some better tires.

i used 29 lbs of air pressure...oll probobly drop it to 22
