Question Willl tire feathering be an issue with people with lowered cars?

Just wondering about this. My car was lowered a few months back and had the wheels aligned as well.

If you are asking whether the lowering will fix the problem we now loving call tire feathering, I doubt it. Everyone I have spoken to or heard from say it will not.

If you are asking whether lowering will be an issue with Nissan during the additional 12 month warranty, I say( toungue in cheek) NO. It is not an issue. They just flatly refuse. No Issue.

Nissan wont even look at it without you bringing it back to stock.

I called them because I wanted to buy the Nismo wheels for my Track. Per their on press release if you follow their recommendation for the larger than OEM size tires for use with the Nismos, (because of the VDC)that will void the warranty. Made no sense to me that they would try to void the warranty for following their recommednations but that is what they said.

A dealer told me that as long as you use Nismo S-Tune Stabilizer Bars, Nismo S-Tune Suspension Set, Nismo Wheels in one of the OEM or Nismo S-Tune sizes and tires that are one of the OEM sizes or 245/40/18 F 275/40/18 R; your warranty will not be voided. If you have VDC you have to have all the parts and the 245/275 18" tires to keep your warranty in effect. If you originally came with only TCS you can have any combination of the above and not void your warranty

I had feathering and got it fixed with new tires and alignment, then had it dropped with Eibachs and no problems so far after a year, although I am thinking of swapping sides like the the TSB to be safe.

tire feathering will still be an issue when you lower your car, but proper alignment will fix it.

Just follow the latest TSB spec, you should be fine.

I think that the feathering probably is slowly going away. I haven't noticed as many complaints as before. I think once every on got their alignments done the issue went away for them, at least for me it did.
