Default Which Bose sucks?

I've heard comments about bad Bose stereo. Is this only on the Touring model with the subwoofer, or does it afflict all models including the track also? What exactly is the problem?

the bose is only on the touring model. do a search on "bose" and you will find plenty of info on the problems.

FYI,

I just picked up my Brickyard/Touring on Monday and have had absolutely no problems with the Bose system. I guess they just had a bad batch of amps and I was lucky enough to not have one in mine.

I thought the others had Bose also, just not the multiple CD and subwoofer model. Am I wrong? What does the track come with?

I'm pretty sure the track comes with their stock Nissan system. Or at least that's what I've been told.

And just an FYI, they're supposed to have fixed all the subs for the touring models. It's just those who already have theirs who have to get a fix.

I didn't order the track model for the stereo. But, I have decided that I'm gonna rip out the stock system and put a decent sounding (but still light) custom job when I get the cash.

Default I've heard

That both head units are actually manufactured by Clarion.
The actual problem is in the component amplifiers something to do with microphones used to control volume sensors.
So this would be with the 240watt system used in the touring model.
I have a 160Watt unit in mine and there is no problem with it other than it's a cheap oem unit. I plan on replacing mine with an alpine mp3 unit and some infinity speakers and sub.

The base stereo in the track model is pretty average. The rear speakers are apparently 32 OHMs to cut down the volume (they're very close to your head), and all the speakers distort when you get near the limit. I'm going to keep the head unit and eventually add a sub, amp and new speakers, but for now I'm just enjoying listening to the engine and exhaust.....sweet music indeed.

I doubt there's as good an installer as, say, Traffic Jams (Encino, CA) here in Las Vegas, so I'll probalby have to take it out of state for the upgrade.
