Default Wind noise at 70mph

Anybody notice wind noise at 70mph? I don't hear anything up to 60mph, but by the time I hit 70mph I hear this irritating whistle/wind noise...

I thought the window raising a 1/2 inch when closing the door was supposed to create a wind-tight seal? I looked at the window and it seems to close flush with the door, I can't determine where the air leak is coming from...

Are you guys experiencing this problem?

what side does it come from? check the gap between the rear side of the window and the b pillar. one window may not be sitting correctly. there sould be a 1/4 gap or less.

It is coming from the driver side. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Did you happen to have the window grease TSB done? I started having wind noise after I did. Took it back to the dealer to fix. I haven't gone over 100 mph yet, but no wind noise up to that speed at least.

Nope, don't have any window grease. So far no TSBs performed on my car.

I was thinking about having the dealer look at it, but after reading so many horror stories of the dealer making the problem worse that I am afraid to take it to them.

Yea, it's possible they could make it worse. But you can't get rid of the noise without taking it to them. The noise was so anoying on mine I had to take it in. Noyt even the slightest noise now.

You are absolutely right Bixby, I gotta trust them or the thing will never get fixed.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to mention this to the dealer on my next oil change.

Hi, I just saw your thread,
I've got the same problem on an 03', and I think I've got it on both my windows except my passenger side is a lot more prominent than the driver side.

Just wondering how it went,
did a trip to the dealer fix your window whistle problem?

Again, I ask the rhetorical question - "do you guys bother to look at the date of these threads before you post a reply"?

The original post was 4 years ago. The profile of the original poster indicates that his last visit was on 06-24-2006 - almost two years ago. What do you think the chance of getting a reply from him are?

I've seen it on several 350Zs already. I guess is common for Zs...
