i was wondering if you go from neutral to drive constantly, would it mess up the car, espeicaly transmission? For example, im driving my car and im at a red light, but i don't want to hold the brakes, so i push it into neutral and i wait. (With the ebrake on of course..) and then when it turns green, i drop it down to drive, and i drive off. i was just wondering cause i do that sometimes, but it's not really a "neutral drop" because im not launching or anytning.. just driving. well just wondering if it's bad.
I do the same thing in my daily driver Camry. I just don't like the tugging feeling of leaving it in Drive. I dont' really care if it messes up the tranny tho. And of course I never rev and pop it in drive, cuz that's just stupid.

yeah.. well sometimes there are those BIG roads on my way to school or whatevr and there are so many cars in the morning, even if it's green i won't be able to move. im at a light for like 5-10 minutes.. it's insane. and also when im at a fast food restaurant drive thru and they're taking long, i'll do that.
thats when i use it.

My friend told me that Honda actually recommends doing this. (Neutral while stopped.) He mentioned that it was in his manual. (He has a 2001 Civic, BTW.) I actually believe that it's better for the tranny because when it's in drive and the brakes are on, the car wants to move forward but it can't. As long as you don't neutral drop above idle, you'll be fine.
