RE040, Victor. RE040 ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I was wondering if anyone had some tangible numbers to show a performance difference between the RE040 and the S03's. On the way back from the Z Show at Bob Sharp Nissan today, I was totally impressed with the handling of the stock tires. Not to say there's not better tires out there, but these are pretty damn good to begin with...

I have to disagree. After driving the "tail of the dragon" in my Z last week and my brother in law driving his 93 rx7 w/ Nitto 555's in front of me, I was fighting to keep up. I was driving to the limit of the tires. They were very loud (screeching) and I had to constantly ease off the engine to avoid drift. His tires did not make one noise, and he was driving turbos. Granted this is the most extreme road I have ever seen, but in the tightest of the tight, the re040 is horrible. On the way they performed well in the rain and on downhill sloped interstates. High performance tire, this is not! I am not complaining, I feel as though I paid way too little to have the fun I am having in my Z. The bottom line is that the suspension was amazing, the tires (under extreme conditions) suck. Wheels and tires will be ordered after I wear this set out.
