Default Tcs?? Wtf!!

I cant belive our 6spd Z cars come with TCS as standard option.

I know TCS can be manually turned off but sometimes I forget to turn these freakin TCS off

The other they I was trying to pass a car on freeway. I droped the gear into 3rd and my tranny freaking slipped (slip light blinked several times)

I was like.. WTF.. I'm trying to pass a car... the vehicle behind me almost ended up crashing into my rear because the TCS was on.

I can't stand TCS!!!

I dont understand the problem.
How did the TCS stop you from downshifting? Did you drop it a gear too low?

I used to hate TCS too, but then I realized driving at 8/10ths and beyond on a public road should be pre-meditated. If you're going to be driving crazy at least the button makes you think about it first.

If you're hitting slip in 3rd gear it may be time to get some new tires.

I think you can buy a module that leaves it on it's last setting.

Do a search for it.

The SLIP light indicates wheel spin and that TCS that you despise may have just saved your life....You're welcome.

Yup, the TC mod will fix your problems.

Once you turn it off it will stay off until you turn it back on.

Since I installed one on my car, the only time TC/VDC is on, is when it's raining.

Sounds like you downshifted a gear or two lower than you should have.....

Are stock? when you go to changing wheel size this will also effect it , if I go around a curve to hard to the right it comes on because of the aftermarket wheels not beng same size, It thinks the wheel is spinning!!!! it's weird

Yeah TCS is an automotive nanny that more and more vehicles seem to come with standard for your safety. However, I have mixed feelings about it. The TCS on the Z is much less intrusive than the one on the IS300, however under certain circumstances it does kill the joy of driving aggressively. Back in the day before all these electronic aids, it use to be a key aspect to learn how to master driving powerful rwd vehicles, however, these tools may have diluted the pool of drivers who actually know how to drive well or correctly.

It's almost a form of cheating. It makes you think you are a better driver than you are. But I guess you could say the same about ABS, VDC and even owning an automatic tranny.

All I got to say is that even though I am a big fan of the 6 spd manual, every single vehicle I purchased in the past decade, minus the Z was an auto. Since buying the Z I actually have become a better driver, because I am no longer fumbling with the super big gulp, or the cell phone, or the ipod, because I don't have enough hands to steer, shift and funble at the same time. Only time I get to do this is when I am in a straight stretch of road and usually in 6 th gear.
