I Hate The 370Z...
I think the Nismo 370 has more than enough power out of the box to have lots of fun on the street with. How much more power do you expect out of a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder for 40 grand? Consider that your "rev-up" since the Nismo 350 did not have any more power over a standard HR.
The 370Z is better in many ways most of which are already mentioned in this thread, Going from and 06 350Z Touring to a 09 370Z Touring Sport Package the difference is huge!
Better quality interior by far
More power/faster
Shorter wheel base
Less weight
Wider foot print
Better Trans both Auto and Man
Whats not to love?!?!?

I love how unique the 370Z looks, its definitely a head turner and screams sports car. Some find it ugly, some find it beautiful. The aggressive body lines and styling is a huge plus.
I do think they should have added more power. .332 horsepower?? Add some bolt ons to a HR Z and it will reach that. 2 lb-ft more torque than the HR z. . and 6 less than the DE Z. .
The interior is also much better than the 350z's but I think more power, lower weight would have made it an even better car. That being said I'd swap my 350z for a 370z anyday, I just hope Nissan does a better job on the 370's successor.

you gotta look at the area under the curve.. both the revup and the HR had the same peak numbers, but when you take them to a track the HR will perform significantly better
370z is certainly an acquired taste. Personally I have my 350z set up the way I want.
I am not a fan of slightly upgraded the interior. Maybe I am just used to the spartan look.
I like the 370z *** and the smaller size. The higher belt line for the hood is not so exciting, but that's just safety regulation for world car sales.
What I really dislike is the 3.7 engine. It's very coarse and reminds me of the earlier 2000's Mustangs. Growly and lumpy. I think this is a direction that Nissan chose just due to the constant growth of engine sizes, and not a better choice for the vehicle.
Some people like the rev-match, I find it annoying for daily use.
Finally, while, I think it's a good replacement for the 350z, Nissan assumed the demographic would be richer for the next Z and pay a premium.
In other words the price has failed the latest Z. Gone is the cheap entry-level base model that started at 23k. Now it is 8K more!!!! That is a hell of a jump in price.
I don't even care the rice racers can afford the 2003 models. The new Z should be 5k less.

The 370z will run 12s in the 1/4 with 2-3 boltons and a tune. It's also one of the lightest 2 door coupes at some 3248 lbs. There is absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of potential in NA form, reliability, exterior and interior. Nothing. It's also has a very short wheel base which I like a lot.
I will pick the 370z over the Challenger, Camero, Charger, and 5.0 Mustang which has a solid rear axle and a ECU in the engine bay
, the M 135i which is as light and delivers the same power as a 370z with 2 boltons, but the 135i falls flat on it's face after 5500RPM and the N54 is flaky. Over any Porsche or Audi or MB.

confused to know if it did...lmao
I guess my main grips where with the looks of it! I still fancy the looks of the Nismo 370Z. Even though it's nothing special over the Nismo 350Z.

The 370z also has a stiffer chassis than all of those cars mentioned except maybe the high 100k Porsche models. And another downside to the M package 135i is it's insanely expensive for no good reason. It is currently the best car BMW makes I think.

FYI- The 350z Nismo's chassis was seam welded by Autech.

I'm in the same boat. At this point if it was free, i'd trade my 350z for a 370z simply because it's a better vehicle. However i'm still struggling to get over the looks of it. I would describe the design as "fussy." It's not really ugly, so much as it's just kind of OK. I think it's fair to say Nissan hit one out of the park when it comes to the styling of the 350z. It had a universal appeal and "wow" factor that the 370z simply fails to match. Do some people like the 370z styling more? Absolutely, i just think that very broadly speaking it's not as attractive, looks wise as the 350z.
Personally i put the 350z up there with the original Audi TT and just a notch below the "new" beetle and "new" mini cooper on the scale of "styling icons of the last 15 years." Not saying those cars are my tastes, just that they were iconic.
Anyway, 370z is still a nice car i just dont lust for it the same way i would a 350z.
I have a 03 350z and 09 370z at my house. Both white. Stock 350 modded 370. Dropped, tint, volk Gts, painted headlights and fangs, na mods etc... so it's not a fair comparison but 9/10 people seem to dig the 370 more. I do sometimes get the question why I bought the sane car tho. Thats always funny.
I don't care how much faster, lighter, blah blha blah the Z34 is. It's FUGLY. Why would you want to be seen getting out of a car that thing? I will say the Nismo version is pretty nice but still... kinda ugly.
I obviously disagree but does that statement hold any truth? No. Its an opinion. Looks are subjective.
I take it back that the 5.0 Mustang is bad because of the solid axle. Since it handles better than the M3? It's fine. But the ECU is still in the engine bay which is a really bad idea. Fix that and shorten the wheel base a bit.
