Why wouldn't I want to be seen getting out of a Z33? It's sexy. Just like you stated it's an opinion, which was shared as all the others were. Z34. It's ugly.

 

That is BS . I beat my 370z as hard as anyone before my oil
Cooler and never once went into limp mode.

The only people I hear saying the Z34 is ugly is Z33 owners. . .which I understand but I think it looks fantastic, more agressive and the lines of the car are great. The only thing I dislike is the front fang/catfish thing going on but everything else is excellent. I think the Nismo 370z's rear looks odd, the Nismo 350Z had a much more aggressive rear, if it had the Nismo 350z type of rear with the current nismo front it would look killer.

 

I never understood why everyone likes the 350Z body style so much, and dislikes the 370Z...???

When Nissan decided to bring the Z car back after the retirement of the 300ZX TT, they originally planned a "retro look" in homage to the original 240-Z (kinda like the new Beetle/Mustang/Camaro played up a modern interpretation of their original) that came out looking like the images below. I LIKED that concept...A LOT! So much so (I was planning on buying one of THOSE - site unseen), that when they decided to go instead with what we now know as the 350Z (looks like a "smooshed" Audi TT, to me...), I was rather disappointed (I threw up in the back of my throat).

The 370Z gave some of the original 240-Z lines back to the Z car...& I like it.

It's nice...and fast. I also actually LIKE the "snaggle-tooth / catfish" thing going on in the front grill.

What I hate about it? The hood line is WAY TOO HIGH!!! The center of gravity could be sooooo much better....and sitting up so high with "drop-off" fenders, makes pulling into a garage with an opening on your right side, makes for a very nervous time.

Its all about personal taste...and how you interpret taste.
I may a bit older than most on this forum.I bought the first Z when they came out.
I mean,a DATSUN 240z.For some reason,Nissan had a data base of sorts of original Z owners.I was contacted to give input on the design of the new Z(Z33/350).I ordered
one of the first 350's when they came out in 02.I still have my 03 350.Got 70k miles on
it,never any trouble except for the front tire ware problem.
There 2 things,looks/design and mechanical.The 350 in my mind is overall closer to the
original "soul" Z...the 240.It looks good from every angle.The 370 does not.Again,taste is personal.I don't like the rear of the 370.The front grille/fangs look added on.I do like the interior.But since I've done my 350 interior in carbon fiber,like mine better.The RAYS wheels on the 370 are a bit over the top.On the other hand,the OEM rims on the 350
17's were boring.Later rims on the 07-08 look great.
What bothers me is the past trend of Datsun/Nissan.They take a great original design and keep tweaking it until its ugly.Thats what they did with the 260&280.I liked
some parts of the 300zx..not the entire car.The GTR...sorta ugly.
All I know,I come out everyday,look at my 350,and marvel on the overall design.
I had an original Jaguar e-type(XKE)...pretty much the same.A great design is timeless.

 

I went from an '07 HR to my '09 370Z. I loved the HR when I owned it (came from 2 Tiburons before that) but compared to the 370Z now, the 350Z looks dated. The interior in the 370Z is much more refined, the power is amazing, and what really sold me on the car is the synchro rev-match tranny. I hardly ever see the 370Z on the streets while 350Zs are a common sight.. I'd say I've seen fewer than twenty 370Zs in the Phoenix area since I bought mine in March of '09. It seems that everyone these days is buying the new Camaro/Mustang and going for the cheap power instead. I'm actually very happy about that - makes my car that much more unique. If I were in the market for a new car right now I'd get another 370Z in a heartbeat.

 

Nismo 350Z > Nismo 370Z > 350Z > 370Z IMHO.

 

On second thought...the 370 NISMO(black)is pretty jaw dropping!

Man, z33 guys hate hard, I thought all I would have had to worry about were the G guys.

 

I went in to get my first service at Mossy Nissan here in San Diego.

So i checked out the 370z (which I actually like), but upon further inspection and review, I've come to the conclusion that over time, I would become tired of the oddly shaped headlights.

The headlights just don't have beauty in its description. z33 headlights own!

Haven't met a N/A z33 that's bothered me to date. Sure you can talk about power adders and forced induction but thus far numbers show boosted z34's out do the numbers put down by the z33's with the exception of those with a ton of money invested in built blocks.

When it comes down to it, the z34 is the automotive evolution of the z33, it happens to all models. I loved the z33 but when it was time to buy why would you ever turn down an improved car. Granted if you have a z33 you wouldn't want a z34 only because its an improvement rather than a completely different experience but the reality is you simply can't compare.

 

I am a z33 owner, and I can admit the z34 is better is every single way. Regardless, the z33 is still a very beautiful car. Nissan knows what they are doing. I am curious to see what changes they will make with the new z34s. Like how they changed the 03-04 to the 06 and 07 designs. More power? different lights? Anyone heard or seen anything about this?

 

not a fan of the 370...just don't care for the styling at all. the 350 has smooth, flowing lines....the 370 just doesn't seem to flow like the 350. the headlights/tail lights on the 370 are ugly, the front end is also ugly. the rear is ok on the nismo but looks like a 350 ings+1 rear....not original. looks like a modern version of the 240...but failed to pull it off...just doesn't appeal to me. in comparison on the retro look at the new camaro...now there is a nice looking car...modern version that suceeded. also, look at the vette...each year just gets better. i just think nissan could have done better job...in no way does the 370 look better then the 350.

 

not gonna lie i probably shouldve waited another 2 months when i bought my HR z33 because i love the z34.

 

Just from skimming this thread, I learned that some 350z owners try too hard to justify that their cars are better so they will feel better about their 350z.

 

looks wise, z33 > z34

performance, and welljust about everything else, z34 is undoubtedly better
personally, i care about looks way too much, (and can't afford a z34), thus z33 gets my vote

 

the 370z looks too rice/boy racer...z33 has a classy look to it....at least infiniti made a big improvement going from the g35 to g37. I think the g37 is a good looking car and is a big step for them..sad to say I cannot say the same about the Z34 looks....although at least the performance is there
