Default a few issues with my 370...

So far I have 3 issues to be addressed on my first trip back to the dealership.

1: Driver seat moves side to side and makes knocking noise when it does so.

2: Something in the rear suspension is creaking/squeaking.

3: Rear speakers don't seem to work. Fade the stereo to the rears and there is no sound.

Looks like I have the first year model blues.

Im not sure we have rear speakers... the seat thing is happening to everyone with the cloth interior. I dont think the suspension is creaking its just lack of sound deadening back there and you can hear everything.

I just checked the manual... and the speakers only come with the bose. Base model owners get to look at speaker grills that have no speakers. How stupid is that. They would be tiny and pretty much useless anyway. This is the worst sounding stock stereo system I've ever heard (it's a good thing I didn't buy the car for the stereo and I'm not an audiophile, my last Z had no stereo or speakers). That's the reason I investigated... it sounded like crap... then noticed nothing was coming from the rear....faded the HU to the rear and got nothing at all. Glad to know it's "normal".

The suspension is creaking. It's not always present, but when it does happen, the noise changes with the load and is pretty obvious and definitely not normal. I had my 350's rear interior completely gutted for years... so it's definitely not a matter of sound deadening.

When does it creak? Hard turns, straights, all the time?

Things to check:
- sway bar bushings greased?
- spare wheel is planted and not moving around?

I seem to only notice it when stopping or starting.

No noises yet after 200 miles. My new 370Z is quieter than by modified 350Z. I believe Hush mat is lighter than Dynamat.

Thumbs up Misc little issues

I agree completely on the stereo problem. I've done a fair amount of bitchin' and whining on other threads. I took mine to an install shop to see if there were at least wires there (some mfrs. put the same, standardized wiring harness in all trim levels) but noOOOooo. You have to tear out the dash to run speaker wires from the head unit. Might as well replace it while you're in there, right? Also, the brackets behind those phony grills are set up to fit only 3.5" speakers -- so unless you're going to drop a subwoofer in the spare tire well -- like the Touring trim Bozo system -- you're not going to get much bass. It's an all-or-nothing kind of choice with regard to the stereo.

The seat in mine doesn't shift around, even though it's a cloth interior. And I don't get suspension noises like you describe. Hope you can get both remedied by your dealer!

I would suggest going with a high quality active front stage rather than investing in rear speakers. At the best all they do is give you a bit of fill. You'll have a much better result by investing in the front pair.

Have you checked your springs? You might have the spacers still in from the dealership if they didn't remove, my buddy drove a couple K before noticing that they dealer never removed. Oh, and welcome to the *****y Z stock sound system. I assume you have not had Z before as the rear speakers in the 350z sound like crap and are ultimatly worthless unless you upgrade. As for the seat, that sucks.

Hey atleast you have working speakers, I had a blown speaker from the factory... though not in a 370z but a 350z.

It is pretty pathetic that they raise the price but dont put rear speakers in them. I mean really? A total difference of 100$(Including the crappy speakers they use anyway.)

Does anyone know what brand speakers they use??

Here we go again. How are the front tires wearing?
Try a grounding kit and a popcharger and call me Monday morning
