While I see that point and know that sports cars are a dying breed I refuse to give Nissan slack and they shouldn't be able to call it all new since it's still a Z34. While it is better than what Toyota did, it's STILL the same chassis that debuted in 2009 with a BORROWED powertrain. I don't hate them, I just won't buy it, simple as that, it'll live aside the 370Z in my brain in the it's not good enough to give up the 350Z for section.
I don't care if we got a new car or not, I knew it was going to be a half baked effort either way and I don't blame them, they are a business and they have to do what makes sense to their sales.
The only thing I want from them is to not claim all new when it's designated as Z34 still. Either way they won't get any of my money as "twin turbo v6 with a manual" doesn't make me wet my pants.

You think? Not for me I guess, but hey if they come out with a Nismo version maybe they can sway me. If I wanted a TT I think I'd go for a Z32 as I love the looks too.
My favorite "dream" cars are the Evora, Emira and Cayman, that should give you an idea of what I look for in a car.

Well, I'm currently driving an AWD Lincoln MKZ with the 3.7 V6. I've gone full old fart. I might get into a Z, but I'm honestly more of a Q60 Red Sport kinda guy now. Still really want an F-Type SVR. Friend of mine just started selling at the Jag dealership. It's where I bought the Lincoln. Got to test drive one and now the thirst is real.

What kills the Q50/60 RS for me is the conventional automatic, they are also not very luxurious compared to their German counterparts. If they had a DCT like the GTR I would be a LOT more interested.

I still own my 2003 Z from new and plan on getting the new Z. I think it looks great and much better than the 370Z that I still don't like the looks of. I asked my dealer if I could get one of the 240 launch cars, but they have no clue. There are 1k+ US dealers so I doubt they'll even get one.

Behold the twin-turbo 3.0L engine and 6-speed manual transmission coming in the new Nissan Z. On the surface, the engine looks just like the one found in the Infiniti Q50 and Q60. Looking deeper though, you'll see that it is not quite the same. Let us expand on that a bit.
In the second and third images, you'll see one of the Z's turbos, and it is quite a bit different than the ones found in the Q. The overall shape is basically the same, however, it appears to be slightly larger, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. Each turbo now includes an electronically controlled bypass valve for boost relief that is located on the outlet side of the compressor. Optical sensors can be seen on both turbos and are used to control the electronic wastegates and display turbo speed on one of the Z's three console-mounted gauges.
As we move backward, you may notice that the 6-speed transmission isn't all that different than the 370Z's manual transmission although there are some very obvious changes. The shifter is quite a bit larger than earlier Z's, which is no surprise to us since Nissan has stated that the new Z's shift mechanism has been redesigned for a more positive feel. Although it isn't visible here we now know that the clutch hydraulics have been redesigned, moving the clutch slave cylinder back outside the transmission and solving the dreaded CSC problem that plagued the last generation Z. Lastly, it looks as if the rear portion of the casing has changed, likely because the cross-member or mount has changed.
Overall, we're pretty happy with these changes and we're excited to see how the car performs right out of the box
