And to think I was going to trade my 9964S for the GTR. Not after reading this B.S First year production cars are the worst. Instead of paying a markup the dealership should mark these cars down, to compensate for the mishaps that will come, and they will come. "Build it and they will come." What good is a sportscar if you can't drive it? 1.Almost like going to Vegas with no money. 2. Going to a gentlemen's club with only $5.00. 3. Going to Hawaii and not swimming in the ocean. 4. Missing a 1ft.putt for eagle. 5. Playing golf at Pebble and leaving your clubs at home. 6. Complaining about the current status of the U.S and not voting......

yep, this should come as no surprise, all of us STI and EVO guys have been putting up with this from day one, welcome to our world 
we dont have "black boxes" but Ive known guys with BONE STOCK EVOs that have gotten denied warranty for "driver abuse" whereas a friend of mine got his M3 towed in from the track with race tires still on with a blown clutch that he got covered under warranty. Japanese automakers are just notorious for denying coverage

Designing and building a deadly monster that is only good for one time use in order to set world record, not too practical in everyday life eh? Maybe Nissan should take more time to think about how to prolong the lives of their machines that can withstand track abuse before releasing them. What's good is a GTR if you're at risk of voiding the warranty when doing what it's designed to do?

"I was driving my gtr two weeks ago and I heard a loud noise coming from the rear. I turned immediately had my gtr towed to crown nissan st. petersburg fl. They didn't touch my car only called some techs from tennessee to look at the car and record the noise, 4 days later two guys from japan to download some info from the car then left. Then I get a call from the dealer to tell me the news, and they told me that the car was driven without vdc too much and nissan will not warranty the transmission which they said was destroyed, I asked them how much to fix it they told me 20k, no freaking way I will pay 20k on top of what i just paid for the car. I called the gtr number and also talked to nissan consumer affairs got nowhere, now the car is sitting at the dealer. I know we shouldn't launch the car but why own it if you cant use this function, don't sell a car that goes 0-60 in 3.4 sec if the only way you can achieve this speed is to void the warranty , false advertising. Here is the bad news people were fearing it has happened to me and Nissan has told me there are already three people in my shoes, if you are one of these people email me, we have got to get together on this. Just think if any of you guys have taken the vdc off just a few times you have already voided your warranty, good luck what a joke nissan. "

the E9X M3 with the dual clutch trans has a launch mode built in, its detailed how to use it in the owners manual. we will never deny a warr claim if something happens during its use--much like nissan should not.
hell we even have had customers pick their car up at the 1200 mile service and show them how to do it.

Puhleeze. Those aren't much better. Well at least they haven't been in the past, unless something has changed. Remember the engine failure/over-rev issue?TO ALL YOU GTR OWNERS, disconnect the damn battery for a week before taking the car in for servicing -

i hope you're not talking about the e46 m3 s54 rod bearing issue, where bmw issued a recall(voluntarily) also extending the warranty on the drivetrain to 100k miles.

Man... Nissan just has two much of a grip on the GTR. From this to "the car is perfect, don't modify it", it goes against everything the GTR has always been.
20,000 our of 70,000. How much does it take to total a car? I'd hate to see a blown engine cost...

considering that the turbos are integrated into the manifolds, wait til those go. 20K would only be a slap on the wrist.
does nissan warranty the 350 if you break axles/tranny doin 6000 rpm clutch dumps?
how is that lc any different? it wasnt like the OP was rarely using it. 40-50 times is like 1-3 times every day since he got the car. Do you drop your clutch 1-3 times a day for a month and expect warranty.

Actually I have heard Nissan denys warranty for grinding transmission due to driver error (as they claim). I was having a hard time also, had to change to 2 different dealership for warranty. This was on my 2003 350z. IMO, Nissan warranty sucks.

Japanese automakers are notorious for fighting warranty claims, this is why they have such a great record and look so good as opposed to the american companies who screwed themselves and did the right thing by recalling everything. I guess you could look at it as caring too little or caring too much, either way the customer get boned.
