Default Engine Cover for Crawford Plenum

I installed a Crawford Plenum last year and really like the mod but it doesn't improve the engines appearance. Does anyone know of any aftermarket manufactures that offer engine covers to fit the Crawford,

You can cut you stock cover (Z or G35). I cut my coupe's with a dremel tool.

I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid.

I've never understood why a piece of plastic, or even carbon fiber, crap on top of the ACTUAL engine (it's called an engine cover b/c it COVERS UP THE ENGINE!) is widely thought to "improve the look of the engine". If you like engine covers, you then by definition must think that the engine, that which powers your car, ye olde beeyooteeful VQ, is ugly, while the ab cutout from the Batsuit is gorgeous. Pathetic, but I do think I'm in the minority. First thing I do when I buy a new car is to take that hideous thing off the CAR part of the car, the engine.

I have shown my car in several car shows and realize that it needs some serious enginge "splash" as to grab more serious attention. I personally think the engine looks good, but one vote (mine) doesn't win a whole lot of shows.

Yeah, I don't know of anyone who currently makes a customized cover for the tall plenums/spacers (hint to all the manufacturers out there ). Your best bet is to customize your own or polish your block which will cost more but IMO the results are far better than some cover you slap on top of your engine.

To make a cover really look good it needs to compliment the motor and not really cover it up

Well, I've got the brake fluid and battery covers custom painted orange; a set of custom orange pi-thon hose clamps and orange fluid caps w/laser-etched ''Z" emblems; a forged aluminum Crawford Z oil cap; and a polished radiator cover w/Z emblem cut out.

I know it's not as blingy as some, but I like engine bay "dress-up" stuff to dress up the "bay" and accent the engine, i.e., I'm OK w/the grounding kits, colored hoses and the like, but if it's a functioning part of the drivetrain, IMO it's sort of sacred. Just me, but the ultimate dress-up stuff for the engine itself is the type of stuff you see on old muscle cars in shows--polished headers, painted block, chrome intake, etc. SWHEEEEEET!

Okay, we're on the same page now. I've sanded and repainted my plenum but am seriously considering fiberglassing, to get a smooth look and inlaying a bling bling chrome Z emblem.

We sure are (on the same page). I think that'll look awesome! My wife and I are going to build an FF Cobra kit car, and painted block, polished valve covers and polished headers are a part of the plan.
