Default Sound System Pics on Your roadster.

I just wanted to see what kind of setup you guys have on your roadster. Please post your pics. I'm really curious on what you guys put in the trunk.

And why do you have headrest monitors? LOL

I need to get my roll hoops painted. Is it true that the only way to get them off is to break them and buy new ones?

no. You just need to find a body shop that know what they're doing. There is ONLY one shop in north CA that know how to do this kind of work. $1500 for the roll bar area.

Here's my plan. I have ordered the Sony WX 7700MDX from Sony, Japan. I chose this unit since my needs are really music only and the unit is a double DIN unit with top specs plus a faceplate that matches the interior of the Z perfectly. It looks much nicer than stock but still looks stock, if you know what I mean. I am mounting a sony CD changer in the storage compartment behind the passenger. Speakers are Focal 165K2P components in front and Focal 165CV Coax in the rear. All behind the stock grills. Sub is a JLW3v2 in a custom built enclosure going in the stock sub-location. There will be a single amp...JL 500/5 that will be mounted in a custom silver painted open top box that goes in the spare tire well. Since my spare won't clear my Stoptech brakes anyway, I threw a few can of fix-a-flat in the trunk. The amp will be back-lighted and visible through a plexiglass window and cutout through the trunk carpet. Eveything is ordered, and I 'm basically just waiting for the headunit to come in......about 2 weeks.

This is not some super system, by all means, but represents a high quality system of modest power. Weight was a factor for me. I didn't want to add 200lbs in subs, amps, boxes in the already heavier roadster, so I did compromise a little (single, lighter sub/one amp) This system should just do the trick to let me hear some good sound during top-down motoring.
