You don’t have to use a large washer to mount it into the existing hole.
Dealer quotes here in the US were over 100 dollars, so a friend got it for me through a wholesale connection for considerably less.

I ordered one from a Honda dealer, and had a Local Speed Shop install it. I still have to use my key to turn the ignition. To tell you the truth I forget to push the button most of the time, but it looks cool, at least to me......db

The same happens to me in my convertible. I have to use the key to turn ignition on and I often use the key to start instead of the button. But it is a cool option.

Otherwise could cut one wire from the starter switch. But then you can only use the button. It is also an compromise, because you still need the key. But a nice added feature for a low price.

Well, if you have a remote start, you already have a key "in the ignition" due to the immobilizer bypass, or you could install one for this mod. Install a rocker switch on a relay that turns the ignition on and then hit the start button. The steering wheel unlocks when you remote start the car...

The Lexus ES350 also has the same features as the SL500

This is not true. The new corvettes use a wireless key fob that when in range allows the car to start. You can hop in with the key fob in your pocket and jump in and start, no keys needed. The new Cadillac CTS are also using the same intelligent key fobs

If it was indeed like the lexus in which the key never leaves your pocket, i would be all over it, seems like a hassle to have to put in the key, and turn it, then push the button? why not just turn the key another quarter turn, and there you go, started car.

i would like to install a push button, but instead of using the regular button...i would make it look like a factory button, or a button in the dash that i don't use...that way it would be stealth...so to start the car you would need your keys in the ignition and push the stealth button...great security feature i think...
