Question Best Radar Available?

Two questions:

1) What's the best radar system regardless of cost?

2) What's the best radar system for value/performance?

Thanks.

The Passport SR3 and SR7's looked really interesting. I really like the idea of a remote unit that's permanently installed. The Solo S2 was kind of interesting.

The Valentine One was very interesting, but all the reviews I read varied so much. In tests it was a various as first to last. I know nothing about them either... I've actually owned a few Passports.

check out www.k40.com

they have some pretty crazy stuff. as i said i'm getting my system installed next week. here in VA detectors are illegal but if the cop doens't know i have one and doesn't see it built into my guages then i don't think i'll be bothered much. plus the idea of scrambling lazer intrests me.

a freind with a valentine 1 got nailed with lazer going 98 in a 70. the cop wrote him a ticket but reduced the speed. his detector never went off.

I read some pretty interesting reviews of the K40... essentially, they said it doesn't work.

Check out www.radartest.com .

They gave the SR3 great reviews for laser shifting/scrambling.

I'm going to read as many tests as possible before I buy.

For the last time, Radar Test is NOT a valid study. It was sponsored by the Makers of the Passport.

That said, if you go with a Valentine One or the Passport 8500, you can't go wrong, as these two detectors are the best on the market today.

Right Vlad?

I agree that RadarTest is not valid. Their testing methodology is sloppy and the results are clearly biased (by their financial backers?).

I also agree that if you go with a Valentine One or the Passport 8500, you can't go wrong. I happen to prefer the Valentine 1 because of the direction arrows. But that may just be personal reference since I always want all the information possible.

Yes! Those two are most recognized leaders.

Just wanted to mentioned that those couple of tests that show Valentine1 dominance are sponsored by makers of the Valentine.

Well it's not just Radar Test...

I read reviews on Car and Driver, Popular Mechanics and a few other sites...

They all had very mixed things to say about the K40.

I think I've pretty much decided on the SR7 or SRX. I really like the idea of the installed units. Much cleaner, I've always hated the "dangling from the window" radar detectors. (even though I've had quite a few myself)

Not certain as of yet which one I'm going to get, but it's going to be one of the SR series Passports for sure.
