Default Aftermarket Replacment Battery

My car is coming up to being 4yrs old in 2 months. I have noticed with this nasty recent heat wave in So Cal my car seems to not have the cranking power it used to. What is a good aftermarket better for the Z?

I currently run an Optima red top (which I love) in my Jeep but by the size of that battery I think it will be to tall to run.

I did not know this. I know they make even larger sized ones than the one my jeep uses. Thanks I will check it out.

Well I am lucky enough to have access to a machine shop I worked at yrs ago. I can machine some cool billet brackets if needed. Time to do some measuring after work.

I ended up getting an Interstate battery this weekend. I also got it prorated for 60mo's. Wow I never noticed how slow my car was cranking over untill I put my new battery in.

Ignoring the weight, I'm sold on Sears Die Hards. If I need a battery for any car I always go to Sears Auto.

I contacted Optima in November 2005 about which to use in the 350Z, they replied that:

The Red 35 is recommedned for your application.
Yellow D35 if you have aftermarket accessories exceeding 400 watts.

Hope that info helps.

the red 35 requires a little work for proper fitment too since it is shorter and less wide than the stock battery. just put it in saturday but still need to do something to the base.
