Decisions, decisions which subs to use?
Okay, here's what is in my garage, and I cannot decide which to use:
Fosgate Power 12...about 4 years old, only used for a year. Takes way too much airspace and power IMO but boy does that thing slam.
2 JL 10W6s. Right now in my Z in a sealed box. It doesn't sound too bad but does not have the dynamics that I wish it had. Considering building a raised floor and installing them in a ported box with 400-800 watts on them. My only hesitation is that the last time I did that my rearview mirror had to be reattached. The bass was incredible though :-)
1 JL 10W7...Thinking of building a false floor and installing this in a ported box with about 400 watts on it.
1 JL 10W3V2
1 JL 10W3V1 These two aren't considerations, I might put one of them in my fiance's Z.
Soooo, really I'm thinking the W6s ported or the W7 ported. Anyone have any suggestions? The ported box size for either application is pretty close. I want good SQ, but then again, I like to rattle my brain every now and then as well.

get 4 8w7's....I heard a G35 at Wicked Cas with these and it sounded so aweosme. The bass hit to fast and tight and loud, and it looks pretty damn cool. You sound like you are all about bass though so get the13w7 and slam 1000watts into it

that sub handles 1000 rms
and 2000 peak
i would use that 1 sub
ported
either aero
or slot port
and feed it either 1000 rms or 2000 rms
IMO
way better bass than JL W6 or W7
and will sound better IMO than W6 or W7
but the W7 with same power will get louder than the hx2

Yeah, that RF sub sounds amazing, however, needs 2.5 ft of space, not counting the ports, so that's my issue with it :-(.
I had it in my Jeep Wrangler in a box I built and 1350 watts to it and it would rattle screws and bolts loose.

i have gutted the trunk without even a second thought of keeping any trunk space , carpet, spare, jack tools, the plastic and styrofoam sides
i am gonna do 2 15" t2 subs
1 power T20001bd amp
1 RF x2 amp
2 stinger batteries 1000 & 2150
2 sets type Rf 6.5 comps with tweets and 4 crossovers

350, you're a maniac!!! You're not going to be able to breathe in that beast.
I remember a buddy of mine in high school had an Eagle Talon and he gutted the back of it and built a sealed box with eight 8" RF speakers and, I believe, a couple of punch 200s? It was nuts, you couldn't see or breathe when he had it playing.

Check out what sound levels OSHA limits factory workers to across how many minutes ... and beyond which hearing damage occurs. I blew my ears half-way out nearly 20 years ago with $10,000 (in those dayz) worth of stereo bought in Japan in a home. The amplitudes in most cars can be driven above that for a whole whole lot less money.
Seriously, I miss being able to hear silence again. The ringing in my ears is a ***** and in my job it's a liability. I use lab instruments to suplement my loss. Since then I've been really protective of my hearing - sort of like a guy with one eye wears safety glasses - and now my hearing is catching up with my age and I'm concidered to have good hearing for an old fart.
Spending 24 years in the Navy and 8 of those working inside a nuclear reactor plant and running around the flightdeck of aircraft carriers didn't help.
They're your ears and you can smoke them if you want to ... just know what you're doing before you do them in forever. I honestly didn't know what I was doing when I did mine in so from time-to-time I get on my soap box and spread the word.
You can blow your priceless hearing with a few hundred bucks worth of amplifier with 30-45 minutes worth of exposure.
