you can get a component set that will fit, no need to hurt the door or tweeter panels

MB Quarts are a nice sound, JL componets are nice also. Depends on what kind of watts you are running.Stock, amp? Try to visit different places that have them on display first so you can hear with your own ear. Everybody likes a different type sound. Then search the net for the cheapest price. I always seem to end up back at e-bay.

Perform the following steps.

Have a friend stand in a quiet room with you, prefferably one with carpet and not many interior angled walls.

have him face you and repeat the following.

"This is what a tweeter sounds like"

Now have him place his hand flat, with his palm facing towards his body and place said hand approximately 2 inches in front of his mouth, blocking his mouth.

now have him repeat,

"this is what a tweeter sounds like when you muffle it."

I understand the need to want to keep your tweeter panels looking nice and sweet, but if you are going to pay big money for your tweeters, why cram them behind some crappy grille that completely negates the nice new tweets you just got done installing.

Maybe the 06 grille for the tweeters is different, but in my 04, that grill blocks WAYYY to much sound. Just as an experiment, take out your tweeters from behind that grill and listen to them for a song, then put them back behind the grille and listen again to the same song. you will notice a HUGE difference.

if you want them behind those grilles take the stock grille with you to the audio shop and place it over the tweeters before you test listen to them. this will be more accurate.

I assume any 3/4" tweeter would fit back there...

I placed a set of Boston Acoustics tweeters from a set of RC620's behind the factory location. There is a screw/bracket and tape that holds in the factory tweeter. it is very easy to get out.

However many have stated issues with imaging and I can concur! They sound O.K. though in that location.
